When I was little I used to believe that dogs could speak and only did it when there were no people around
I believed that cats only lived for a very short time, usually no more then 6 months. I was astounded to find out much later in life that my friend had 2 cats & one was 10 years old and the other nearly 14! My sister and I were always bringing home stray cats & pleading with our parents to keep them. Guess our parents thought it was easier to go along with us at first & then when our initial excitement waned, dad somehow found a new home for them. I think that I believed they ran away to die.
I thought that my dog was a killer dog that was undercover and that he was like a spy or something
When I saw "The Lion King" when I was a kid, I noticed that when Mufasa died during the wildebeast stampede, his whiskars were bent. They weren't straight. I thought that if a cat or dog's whiskars were bent, they would die! After that, any time I played with a cat, I tried to bend it's whiskars!
When my sisters and I were younger we insisted on getting a dog. However the novelty soon wore off and we weren't prepared to walk it or look after it anymore (like many other children, I assume!). So one day upon returning home from school, the dog was missing. My Dad told us that "Major" (the dog) had been recruited by the army as it's mascot and was crrently in training at an army barracks, far away.......... Only a few years ago did he confess, he had actually given him away to a friend of his who lived in the countryside.
I used to think that cats had sticky stuff on their tongue so they could lap up their milk easier, or so my sister told me!
when i was little i asked my mom what it meant when someone said they were gonna get their dog fixed. She said, "It means the vet cuts off a special part of their pee-pee so they can't make babies." Naturally I thought that the penis of a male animal was just one big thing, with no "special parts". I thought about this for a couple days, and eventually asked my mom, "How do the kitties and doggies pee after their fixed!" She soon explained to me that there were certain parts. lol
Years ago, before my grandparent's dog, Rufus, was neutered, he was pretty frisky. One day, when my sister was about ten years old, she was playing with Rufus when he all of a sudden started getting "jiggy" with her leg. Since she didn't know that facts of life, she just told Dad "Daddy, Rufus wants to rumba!"
i used to believe that my pet cats actually had nine lives, because everytime one was lost or died, my mother would bring another back to me, exactly like the earlier one. Instead, when i got older, i found out that was a lie, because one day my mother brung one of the opposite sex, and then she finally told me the cats she'd bring me, were only different replacements she'd buy only to keep me from crying from the lost one.
I used to believe that dogs' tongues were made from ham, so if the dog was hot, i'd sit there trying to bite it for hours, timing my rhythm. I stopped believing this when I managed to catch it arround 7 years old. It didn't taste like ham, which I way very disappointed about.
when i was little, i thought that Tom and Jerry is one name Tomanjerry and i actually believed that that's the mouse name cause he always wins the battles :D
I used to think dogs had hooves, because they make hoofbeat-like sounds when they walk.
Until reading the Cat stories I believed the saying about a room too small to swing a cat in refered to a real cat too.
when i was about 4 i sat on my cat thinkin it was a baby lion i belived this until i was 6 or somthin......dumb!!
i used to believe that when my cat died in went to Disneyland. Atleast thats what my dad told me.
When i was little my mum convinced me that if a cat spat in my eyes i would go permanently blind.
I used to think that when I slept with a cat it would keep all the bad ghosts away.
I still think that!
When I was little I thought all cats were females and all dogs were males.
I used to believe all cats were female. It completely shocked me when I learned otherwise.
yea..i used to believe all cats were girls and all dogs were boys. its funny how other kids thought the same, because i thought i was the only one...lol
