When I was a kid i thought cats were cats and dogs were dogs. Their sex didn't enter into my calculations until later.

I used to believe that my cat Rosita had 7 lives, when I was about 6 years old I told this to my friends in the garden and they really laughed a lot, it was very sad but now I know that this is not true, I really miss my cat.

For a long time, I thought that dogs were spayed and cats were neutered. The cat I had when I was little was always getting into fights and spraying in the house, which naturally annoyed my parents. So, they had him neutered, which they explained would cut down on this behavior, and make the spray less stinky. So, I thought neutered meant neutralized. Like, there was something was added to the cat that neutralized the smell of the spray, and made him neutral in fights. After all, my parents had explained that saying "Switzerland is neutral" meant they didn't get in fights with other countries. I'd heard the term "spayed" and knew that it was similar - since I knew that cats got neutered, I assumed that meant that dogs got spayed. After all, the phrase is "spay or neuter your pets" and there's two kinds of pets, dogs and cats. Having different words for different animals made more sense to me than different words for the genders of both.

Now that I think about it, "neuter" does have a lot in common with "neutral", duh, same root. The animal becomes of neutral gender. And it does result in an animal that is less aggressive.

When I was a young tot, I truly believed that all cats were female and all dogs were male. This also led me to often raise an eyebrow when seeing a female dog urinate and not lift a leg. And...well...cats I still can't tell...

I still believe this (because im still a kid) but, i think that when my cat looks into your eyes, and makes that "pleeeeeeeeeeeeease?" look, that he would hate you if you didnt give him what he wants. now, he gets pampered a lot, even though hes nice, and wouldnt hurt me (never has), but he gets it all... GETS IT ALL!

My Grandma had a cat and me and my cousin when we both were about 4 would eat her cat food out of her cat bowl acting like cats.Our older cousin told us that we would become cats if we ate cat food. So we stoped and waited to turn into cats.
