Until i was about 8 I thought that all cats were female and all dogs were male, thanks to some cartoon stereotype. Suddenly I realized wait! Where do puppies and kittens come from then?

Like many people on this site, I used to believe that all cats were female and all dogs were male. The weird thing is, my family had both cats and dogs, and my parents showed us kittens and puppies being born, and taught us how to tell between girls and boys, but I still sort of believed it.
