Cats and dogs are the same species

My sister and I thought cats and dogs were the same animal, the dogs were male and the cats were female.

Like so many others, I, too, beliived for a long while that all cats were girls and all dogs were boys. My best friend's little brother, though, knew better. HE was positive that boy dogs had boy puppies, and girl dogs had girl puppies.

I used to believe that all cats were females and all dogs were males and they mated together and you got either a boy dog or a girl cat. Unfortunately to this day I refer to all dogs as males and cats as females! Somethings never change.

Up until I was about 8 years old, I believed that all dogs were male and all cats were female. Then, when my friend got a dog for her birthday, I suggested she name it Grover (for whatever childish reason). She looked at me funny and said, "But she's a girl!" :) There goes that theory!

when I was small I believed that all dogs were male and all cats were female, and they would mate and have a litter of kittens and puppies. It blew my mind to find out that wasn't true...(and sometimes it still does...)

I used to think that all puppies were male and all kitties were female. When my cat had kittens I was disappointed that she didn't have any boys. :-)

Growing up I believed that all dogs were boys and all cats were girls. I thought cats looked too feminine to ever be a boy. Even when I learned otherwise, I still always referred to cats as shes and dogs as hes.
