When I was young there was a mouse in our house. My mum and my brother had seen it and I asked what colour it was. They said it was green with purple spots and I believed them and I was amazed.

I used to think llama's had 2 heads. One facing forwards and one backwards. I have no idea why I thought this.

Remember the recent outbreak of foot and mouth desiese in the UK, well I thought it was foot IN mouth and all the animals walked round eating thier feet, and I was 16.

one day, i was walking my brother to school(he was in grade 2),and it was a really dreary day,it was raining lightly,my brother was acting really strangly, he looked as if he was trying to cover his head, when i asked him what he was doing, he said "i don't want worms to fall on my head"
i told him that worms did not come from the sky.he looked at me, and 'smartly' said " then where do they come from smarty pants??!!"
i told him they fell from the ground.

My parents once told me that a haggis was a scottish hedgehog, with soft spines. Naturally, I trusted my parents and took their word for it
I fell out with my best friend over this as she insisted it was a sheep! I didn't find out the real truth until I was 12. Oh! The humiliation!

i would like to say that when i was very young i believed that giraffes laid their eggs underground. Unfortunatly this happened about a year ago (i'm now 16) but the very worrying thing was that i hadn't even thought that giraffes don't even lay eggs- all i could think was 'how would they dig the holes with their hooves?'

I always used to pass this store. The name was just simply, CARPET. There was a big space between the R and the P so for the longest time i thought the store was for car pets, pets to keep in the car. Ha!

One day while at a cottage when I was 4, my nanny informed me that if i swam in the lake, fish would bite my toes off because they looked like little worms. I did not swim in a lake for many many years afterwards.

When I was little i asked my dad why the dinasours were extinct. He told me that a large meator had fallen from the sky and caused dirt to fly up and block out the sun so they dies. WEll, i missunderstood meator and thoght he said "meat eater" so for the longest time i thought a giant t-rex fell off the moon and killed the dinasours.

My grandfather told me that buffalo wings came from real bufalo. As people began growing out west it was dangerous for the buffalo to fly. You know cause' they would kill us.(Big damn things flying around!)So people clipped their wings as soon as they were born. And since I'm from the south,(waste not want not) we now have buffalo wings.Mild,Hot or, Burning your britches!!!

When I was little we had squirrel problems. We would catch them in a trap and drive them a few miles from the house. My mom would say be quiet to the squirrels and she would cover them up so they would naturally be still. Obviously that shuts them up. The I would get her to ask the squirrel a question. She would ask the question, then uncover the cage and it would start chattering. I thought it wsas the squirrel answering my moms question.

When I was about five I asked my dad what the hole in the middle of a guitar was for. He told me that it was where mice lived. I believed this until I was about ten, I think.

I had heard sometime around 2nd grade, that some animals, such as foxes, chew off their own feet when cought in traps. Having had a pet lizard at one point, I knew that some animals could regrow appendages. I would argue with my father to no end saying that FOXES COULD REGROW THEIR FEET.
