This isn't my belief, but my younger cousin's. My aunt (her mom) works in a video store, and loves horror, so my cousin was exposed to all kinds of monster movies at a VERY young age. When she was 4 her and a friend were playing in a field near a cow pasture, when they ran inside bawling. When ask what was wrong, they claimed that the cows were zombies in disguise, because they went "Murrrrhhhh...." like a zombie instead of "Moo." She is still slightly suspicious of cows, three years later.

When I was little I was trying to catch a squirrel and my mom said that they were bad for you to touch. I spent many years thinking that squirrels were covered in a deadly poison and you would drop dead if you touched one.

I thought that you could combine any two species of animals, didn't matter how different they were, and create really cool hybrids. I was constantly imagining up these hybrids thinking I'd be the one to really give it a go and discover all of them one day

I was very disappointed when I received my first set of Sea Monkeys... I thought they would be wearing clothes, hats and shoes as the picture in the magazine showed. Every day I'd peek to see if they had grown larger and gotten clothes.

When I was maybe 4 or 5, I dropped my mitten down a sewer grate. For some reason, I thought that wolves lived down there just waiting for little girls to drop their mittens.

When I was a child I used to believe that roosters laid jelly beans. I would spend several weeks every summer with my uncle on the farm. Every morning he would go to the chicken coop before I got up and put jelly beans in the roosters nest. It was my job to collect the rooster eggs for the the Jelly Bean Factory. He would collect them in a jar until it was time for me to go home and then he would pay me my commission for the beans, usually 25 cents. A lot of money in the 50’s. I believed that roosters laid jellybeans until I was 11 or 12.

I always used to pass this store. The name was just simply, CARPET. There was a big space between the R and the P so for the longest time i thought the store was for car pets, pets to keep in the car. Ha!

When I was little I didn't like moths, they were annoying and ugly. Then I heard this story~
One day all the little angels in the sky were sad, so sad that they were crying, they wanted to make a beautiful rainbow for the people on earth but didn't know how to color it.
On this very same day the very vain, and beautiful butterflies were hosting a family reunion, all the butterflies invited their cousins, the moths, who were even more beautiful and colorful than the butterflies.
The angels decided to call upon the butterflies with the suggestion that perhaps if they only gave up a little color each they could make their rainbow. The butterflies being vain as they were adman refused and laughed hautily at the sad little cherubs. But the moths were kind creatures and decided that if they gave up every last drop of color, they would be able to make a rainbow for the angels and the people of earth.
And so they did, and the rainbow was as beautiful as the moths were on the inside.

I thought that when they raise animals for food they would wait for them to die of old age before we ate them as I figured it would be too mean to kill them..

I told my 3 year old daughter on the way to school that as squirrels live in nests they must lay eggs, and hairy ones at that. She told her teacher it was true when she was seven years old

I used to think that coyotes were large purple animals that looked a bit like very fat horses. They had green polka-dots on them and razor sharp teeth. When I heard my mom talking about a pack of coyotes, I decided that they could shirnk and that they all lived together inside a back-pack. It was a few years before my dad managed to convince me that they looked like dogs.
