When I was about 4, I thought catfish were supposed to meow.
When I was in pre-school, there was this big tree out in the corner of the playground with a huge knot in the trunk. I used to believe that a family of squirrels lives inside of the tree and the knot was their front door. I'm sure people thought there was something seriously wrong with me since I would spend the majority of recess with my ear pressed against the tree trying to hear the squirrels and talk to them. That probably explains why I didn't have very many friends.
I used to think jelly came from jellyfish's tenticles
i used to think that farmers kept animals because they were annimal lovers.......... UNTILL I WAS 16

I remember when I would go to my grandfathers farm he told me that one side of the cows legs are shorter than the other... thats how cows can stand on a hill without falling off
when i was little i used to think that in England we kept all the white ,black or brown sheep in the fields to make all the white, black and brown jumpers. Other countries in the world had the red sheep and the yellow sheep and the pink sheep etc to make all the other colours in jumpers.
It is logical to a four year old!
For the longest time I thought King Kong was a real primate...I thought it was just a really huge gorilla. And then one day when I was 17,while waiting in the concession line my friend made a random remark about how the kangaroo is the only living animal that begins with K...and then I shouted "No it's not!!King Kong begins with K!" My friend really thought I was joking!

I used to believe the torn up tires from semi's on the side of the road were alligators because of all the tread from the tires and the way the tires were torn up, it looked scary.

I used think that squirrels were burying their poop when they really were burying their nuts. I thought that they all ran away from me when I approached them because I watched their friends "burying their poop."
You know the movie 'Planet of the Apes'- the one from the 70's? I used to believe that the guard apes, the ones with the ammo wrapped around their bodies, were real-that they really talked, and acted like adults (I was about 5 to 6 yrs old at the time). I wondered if there were really ape 'actors' a special breed that could do what humans do!
My cousin lived near what my Parents, and Aunt and Uncle called a swamp. They told us never to go in the swamp because it had alligators and crocodiles in it. We wouldn't go in and if a ball went in the swamp it was gone forever. They just didn't wan't us getting hurt, but I was scared to death when we brought our dog over when he would travel into the swamp. We live in New England, so when I got a little older I realized it wasn't really true.
I used to believe that my stuffed animals were alive, one time when I was 3 I don't know if it was a dream or it was real but the stuffed animals got up and walked towards me and I ran away so scared im 15 now and still have nightmares about stuffed animals, I hate them so much. Honestly I don't know of it really happened or if it was a dream I was so young but it's one of my strongest but scariest memories.
As a child I used to love playing outside until it got dark. At 6 PM bats come out and fly around, so my uncle, who always tried to get me indoors after dark, once said that those bats stick onto your mouth after 6 PM. Even now im really scared of them and I always cover my mouth whenever I see a bat.
When I was 5 or 6, I had already been introduced to the internet.
So I was on this knockoff, unofficial, foreign " DISNEY MANIA ROOMMAKER " and I spotted a little pixel sprite of a male character eating asian food. I automatically titled the food as " Disney Food " which was served as Disneyland { I had never been there before, so of course I wouldn't know }. And then the animation depicted him burping after taking a bite. I thought he was sighing, so I assumed it was nasty. A few minutes later, I walk up to my older sister, who was 15 at the time, and asked her " Is Disney Food nasty? " She was puzzled and ready to laugh but she just said " No. " with a grin.
We used to catch dogfish in the Great Lakes when I was a child. This old-timer fishing next to me one day said if I heard one bark, it meant I was going to die. I cut the line when a dogfish was on after that.
