when we wne to my aunts house for a viset she had a back room that had a ladder going up to the roof..so my brother and i being curious wanted to see what was up there..before we could climb up my parents told us that my aunt had giant rats up there and if we opened the door they would get out and bite us
When I Was Little I would hear people talking about 'Tiger Woods'. Of course, I never realised he was a golf player, and would always beg my mum & Dad to take me to 'Tiger Woods' Funny thing was, I was terrified of tigers, ever since i'd met a man in a big furry tiger costume at the shopping center.
I once belived that animals were actually people dressed up in furry clothing...but then I wondered about the birds and the rodents...I WANNA FLY AND SPREAD DEADLY DISEASES! D: so unfair...
I sused to believe dinosaurs lived in my walls.
I was in a wood one time and my Auntie told me (cause she knew I was scared of snakes) that snakes grew in ferns! loads of them round the main paths, so I wouldn`t go off the path! I have had a fear of walking through ferns ever since!!!
That when we went to the muesum the exhibits were their pets and they may they were dead because of the abuse they went through and they were all assudent murdered cuz they cannot take all of that abuse anymore went out of the mueseum in tears 😠not in cheers then
I used to think that unicorn existed and that they do rainbow poop.
I used to believe that cow udders were hollow bags full of milk.Yet I knew that human boobs were solid
WHEN I WAS LITTLE I USED TO BELIEVE THE COWS WERE ABLE TO EAT US
When I was 7 I was very into the animal kingdom and argued with my teacher for the rights of animals to have their names spelt with a capital letter eg 'Tiger' not 'tiger'. This was because it was a name - why should animals not get the right to have a capial letter st the front of their names just like humans do!?.
I used to believe there were calves' heads in those cans of Pet Milk.
I used to believe that there were cute furry creatures called "Snipes" that lived in the woods - and my camp counselors would make us search for them for hours. I think I actually fooled myself into beliveing that I was seeing them.
As a child I had an unnatural fear of snakes. I was visiting my grandfather on Vancouver Island who lived on the beach. I would walk along the beach but I was terrified of the washed up seaweed since I thought that snakes lived in it.
I knew the phrase about "room to swing a cat" was just a saying about enough space...but we immigrated to NZ from San Francisco when I was in my 30's and went farming. Imagine my surprise when the vet told me the best way to make a newborn lamb breathe after a difficult assisted birth, was to pick it up by the hind legs and swing it up and over in a circle. Imagine how I felt when it worked! I was a ballet dancer...transplanted to being an ovine midwife and had a steep learning curve.
BUT we knew a Kiwi butcher who really thought ewes had one more rib than wethers....great powers of observation...the amazing thing was he wasn't just trying to kid the Yanks.
when i was small i thought rats mutated into bats
I remember believing as a child that horses and cows were the same species;
the horse was the male, and the cow was the female.
when I was very young I used to believe that bats were huge big birds that were bigger than planes that would come in the night and whisk you up in their huge claws and take you away. I was terrified of being alone and would never ever leave my window open at night.
This is about dog muck and horse muck. When I was a wee lad our family took a walk up the country lane. It was then that I first encountered horse and naturally, I didn't yet know what it was called. I took a guess and told everyone to "look out for the dog horse"
Once when my dad had told me that we (as in human beings)were all animals as well, I got scared that I would grow fur and a tail and I refused to go outside unless it was for school and I kept insisting that my parents drop me off at school as if the slightest contact with nature would make me a cat or something.
I had heard sometime around 2nd grade, that some animals, such as foxes, chew off their own feet when cought in traps. Having had a pet lizard at one point, I knew that some animals could regrow appendages. I would argue with my father to no end saying that FOXES COULD REGROW THEIR FEET.
