I used to beleive that when when you sold your house you just swapped house with the person who brought it of you so everyone had a house to live in.
I used to believe that everyone in pictures could see me so i turned all of the pictures in my house backwards
I used to believe their was a hidden room somewhere in my house where an office guy sat and ran our electricity.
When I was a kid, I was terrified that the if the ceiling fan in my bedroom was set on high, it would be spinning too fast and fly off and kill me at night while I was asleep. I still don't like to have the ceiling fan set on high, but only because it makes too much noise.
My cousin told me that the house creaked at because it was getting smaller and that we got smaller with it. And in the morning the house got bigger again...I think I believed her up until I turned eleven!
I used to believe that when i heard on tv that people were addicted to painkillers, that they were addicted to tylenol. i mean thats what i used to kill my pain when i was little.
I used to believe that there was a purple monster living behind the refrigerator!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
top belief!
I used to think that the vacuum cleaner performed the same function as the lawnmower. They both made lots of noise, and something happened underneath where I couldn't see, and both were used weekly on all the surfaces I thought of as 'the ground'. I noticed that the carpet never seemed to really need a trim though, and I figured it just needed to be watered more often... Yes, I tried to water it, regularly... until I got caught, and it was explained to me that carpet was not alive.
when i was little we had a vent in our kitchen floor when i asked my dad what it was he said it was a heat duct (i heard duck) and that heat duck monsters lived down there and would pull me down if i got to close. for the longest time i wouldnt even go near there..
My mother did this when she was young.
She was doing the dishes and complaining to her father that she couldn't get a pan clean, so he told her to put a little elbow grease into it. She in turn searched the cupboards for the elbow grease can while he laughed his but off. she had no idea it wasn't a cleaning product
we had a good few people who would call our house and we would just let the answer machine get it. i always thought that they could hear me, why not i could hear them, so i would stand completely still and not say a word every time the answer machine got it. (sometimes i still do)
My brother was vacume cleaning cuz my mom made him. And so he told me that if I stepped too close to him while he was vacuming, he would vacume my feet up. Now when I vacume, I make sure to be at least 1 foot away from it.(Ha ha. Foot)
Once I thought these two teenagers who used to wash my mums car lived in our attic. Hahaha!
i used to belive that if you put your head in a microwave when it was on it would change to the shape of whatever was in there!
When i was 5, i used to be close the shutters very fast because i believed a man would arrive and would frighten me...^^
When i was five i used to belive there are a gost in my bedroom and in my house.
when i was younger, me and my brother would alwaysss play Twister (the game when u spin the hand thing and you have to put ur foot/hand on the differnet colors) and he would always say that if i cheated or if i did something wrong it would somehow push one of the colors(i thought they were buttons!) and it would open you and i would fall down into a pit or something =[
I kind of jumped to a conclusion on this one, but until I was 8, this is what i though: Do you know those sattelite and phone towers with the blinking red lights? I used to think they were missiles and thats why they put the fences around them. I moved to a house that was near one when I was 7 and i cried because my room was the closest to the tower, I thought it would explode and blow up my room.
When I was really young I would get mad at anything that I ran into. If I ran into a wall or piece of furniture, I'd kick it back, as if it was it's fault, not mine. I would say something like "the wall hit me!" Or "stupid wall!" The habit got passed on to my friend and she once stuck her tongue out at a bar above the slide that she bumped into.
i have dreams that seem very real to me. when i was young i was having a conversation with my mom and brother it was one of those "hey do you remember when...." conversations.. everyone laughed at me when i asked "Hey do you remember when the goodyear blimp crashed into our willow tree?~!?" i was crushed when they told me it didnt happen
