I used to believe that everything around me was alive; even things like the FAUCET. I thought that when you turned the water on hot it would hurt the faucet because it was too hot.
When I was about 6 or 7 I thought that when you moved into a new house, the old tenants got yours and it was just a trade.
I used to believe the posters on my walls were watching me and when i was sleep they would go and talk about me.
I also thought there was cameras in my poster
I had this 1 poster of Aaliyah and when she died i thought she could come into my room and watch me
My grandparents used to live in an apartment building with L or U-shaped floors. They lived at the very end of one hall, and that's the only part I'd ever see. Looking out from their door, I could see the one door directly across the way, as well as half a door. I automotically assumed that the people that lived on that side of the building had to be paper-thin to fit in their doors, since the hallway must have been so narrow. I always peeked out and wondered why I never saw any flat people or flat pets.
When I was little we kept some boxes of varnish called "Joker" in the stairs down to the basement. I had watched Batman on TV and was convinced that the boxes was "The Joker" i disguise, and that one day they would transform into him. (I thought he was really scary) For several years i had to run as fast as I could up the stairs so that he wouldn't catch me.
When i was little i used to beleive that outside our house there was a money tree because i allways used to find change underneath, turns out it was just drunk people walking past throwning there change at the tree lol
I used to believe that all the things in Earth were alive. So, I was used to making friends everywhere, either a plush, a fork or even a line in a glass. And I used to speak with them when I was alone, like "Hello Mr. Sun, How are you today? " and I answered to myself like "I am very good thanks for asking".
When I was a child my parents told me that a section of hose pipe we had in our garden was the same hose as my grandad had at his house (about 60 miles away).
What they meant of course was that the hose had been cut into two pieces, but I spent years totally confused as to how our bit of hose could join up to the bit at his house so far away!
when i was 9/10 my parents room's doornob needed some fixing.and i feard that if their door closes they will be locked and even suffocate to death.it never occured to me that they can open from the inside.hence i always put a chair/stool to prevent the door from shuting by itself.in my mind i was saving my parents' lives and to them it was one of the silly things that their daughter does.
When I was about 5 years old (I think), our air conditioner had a loud rattle
when it ran. My family told me that it had a jar in it, I suppose meaning that it was
jolting in the window. The more they tried to tell me it was o.k, the less o.k. it was
with me, because all I could think of was, that with all that rattling, that jar is going to
break and the glass is going to come out and fly all over and hurt anyone near
by. Finally, Dad fixed the "jar in the air conditioner". Days or weeks later, I was playing in the
garage, I saw an old peanut butter jar with some dirty water in it. Knowing of course
that dirty water dripped out of the air conditioner, I figured it was the "jar" that was
in the air conditioner. All in one piece, no less.
When I was very young, I thought the woofers behind the fabric in our old stand-alone speakers of the 70's were pineapple rings.
I used to believe that when you paid the waterbill, you'd only pay for the water that went down the drain.
my friend used to think there was bologny under the driveway because there was a bump in it that made the car bounce.
When I was little, my sister, my cousin and me would do everythnig together. There used to be a sock hanging from our grandparenrs door. I never figured out why. We used to get scared of it because we thought it was some evil spirit or somethnig. I'm not really sure when we found out it was just a regular sock.
When I was younger and everytime I used to take off my shirt or put one on, it covered my face and my eyes, so if i didnt quickly pull it over my head, this big needle coming from the cieling would poke my in the head. I guess because I couldn't see under my shirt and I scared myself thinking that.
Our neighbors across the street had a green tool shed. Next to this tool shed, there was a tree that shaded several large rocks, covered by long reeds. Well, for some reason I believed that Winnie the Pooh lived in the green shed; and the man who owned the house told me that an alligator lived in the tall grass, so for years I believed that, too.
When I was little I used to believe that when I went to bed someone would come and watch me so I used to wrap my head and face up in my blanket because I figured if I cant see them, they cant see me :S
I used to believe that everyone had invisible strings tied to them. If you didn't leave a room through the same door you entered it, your string would wrap around the house and get tangled. Eventually, you'd get so tangled up that you couldn't go anywhere.
about 12 years ago when i was 4 my mum, dad, sister and i were all in the lounge. My sister and I were playin Noah's Ark memory game with animals and my parents were watching a film. My dad said to my sister, "Amy-Jo, can you shut the door because there is a draft coming through?" I sat there in amazement! We carried on playin the game and I kept lookin up at the door. About ten minutes after my sister had shut the door I walked over and sat on my mums lap and said...."Is there really a giraffe coming through?"!!!! Bless!
I used to believe that the head of my bed could not be against the same wall that the front door of the house was on or something terrible would happen.
