When I was about 9 or 10, I used to believe that if you had visitors in your house ntohing bed could happen. For example: no robbers, kidnappers etc. I made myself believe this after watching the news with my parents and getting scared from all the horrific stories....I still find comfort in this at times....
I used to think you needed a special license to call someone a dummy
i used to belive that when i waw little, my sisters and me would do very bad things, so we always used to stand in the corners. i always though when i was bad, the walls would suck me in because i was bad.
I used to listen to these kid tapes by the "Sandman" when I was little.
I was listening to it by myself when it finished, and I didn't know how to turn it off. After about half a minuete of white noise, The narrator came on and said
"You may now, turn off the tape....... turn off the tape...... turn off the tape... you may now turn off the tape"
I thought the guy was really talking to me and was getting mad because I couldn't turn it off!
I started crying and ran to my mommy.
I had endless lists of "I must do that or XYZ will happen" which I guess potentially was Obsessive Compulive Disorder!" I was never quite sure of what the thing was that would happen only that it was 'bad'. These lists included the belief that I must hold my breath for as long as it took for the kettle to boil, having to get downstairs before the toilet flush stopped, seeing how long I could close my eyes whilst going top speed on a bike, having to reach a specific point in a certain number of steps...Oh dear,I DID grow out of it though!

that windows were attatched to the edges of walls.
I used to think that there were Indians living in my parents bedroom who could only be awoken by the sound of a flushing tiolet. So after going to the bathroom, I would wash my hands first then simultaneouls flush the toilet and open the door to run down the stairs. They would come running out with their bows and arrows but I was always to quick for them.

My father used to have an old fashioned typewriter in his study. He told me when I was about 6 years old that I should not try to pick up the typewriter as it would be very dangerous. I understand now that this was because the typewriter was heavy. One day soon after I saw some sets of unused staples stuck together beside the typewriter and i did not know what they were. My little mind assumed they had fallen out of the typewriter as they were sharp at the edges. Later I had recurring dreams about picking up the typewriter and all the staples falling out onto the floor. Of course in the dreams I wore no shoes and would try to get out of the room without standing on the upturned sets of staples.
when I was a child I couldn't go to bed before having checked that there wasn't nobody under my bed.Now I still check but for spiders

HEY !!! When my Mom, was, about 5, she used to believe that (you know how sometimes, there are 2 switches in a room, one for the light, and, one for something else), well, my mom didn't know what that was for, so, when she and my aunt were fighting, her aunt would say if they kept fighting, she would flick the switch, and her neighbors would come and get them. But, she never did flick the switch, so, she stopped believing her.
