When my husband was little, he used to believe that monsters lived in his closet. At night when he went to bed, he always made sure the closet door was firmly closed, so the monsters wouldn't get out. Now, as an adult of 52, he still will not get into bed unless the closet door is firmly closed. Some things just stay with you all your life!

When I was little, I was extremeley scared of the sceleton living in my closet. Unfortunatley, If I stayed awake, he would eat me, and if I hid under my blankets, he wouldhold me down under the blankets until I sufocated. I screamed until my very annoyed Mum came to rescue me.

I still check my closet at night before I go to bed because my sister once told me that the one night that I didn't check then that would be the night that someone or something would be in there... and I don't want to take that chance!!

I saw a vampire "documentary" I guess you could say on TV when I was younger once, and believed for the longest time that if I didn't have my covers all the way up to my chin, then vampires would come out of my closet and bite my neck. I have just started to force myself to push my blankets down at night, but I still shut my closet door, and it's been over a decade since I used to believe that.

When I was little I used to have to sleep facing my closet doors because I thought vampires lived in there and they would only come out to get me if I wasn't facing them.

When I was little I had a HUGE closest. But at night-time I would hear sounds from inside it and my step-dad said that the sounds were made by evil faries and that if I didn't have a light with me they would take me to be eaten. So everynight I would hide in my bed hoping that the hall light would stay on. (My stepdad turned it off at times to scare me-I hate him.)

When I was a little girl, I used to have a little chimney in my bedroom and I used to believe at night the legend "man dark knight" passed in my bedroom and looked at me when I was sleeping. So I had to tidy my bedroom before I went to sleep: It's a painful memories.

Ever since I was little I swore that there were monsters in your closet and under your bed. If anything was left out in your room they would eat it in the middle of the night. There were nights when I would sleep with EVERY stuffed animal I owned just to make sure they wouldn't get eaten...

I have always thought (and still believe this), that a monster who feeds on fear lives in my closet and if he scares me I won't be able to sleep again. The weird part is my 2 ways to avoid him, fall asleep before 12:15AM or cover myself in blankets and sheets 'cause I think the monster is allergic to the stuff blankets and sheets are made of

When I was young I was afraid to leave closet doors open and walk by open closet doors because I thought miniature people lived in them and would kidnap me if I did.

When I was young there was a small door in the back of my closet that opened into the attic. To keep me out of there, my grandfather would tell me that if I went between the wooden slats where the insulation was, that I would fall straight into the furnace and burn up. That was enough to keep me out of the attic!

When I was a tiny little kid, I slept in my parents bed at night. In their room, there were two closets that would be able to hold a human. So, at that young age, I thought that Michael Myers lived in there. And I also read on the internet that someone in a Halloween movie made fun of Mike and died. So every day I would be careful never to say anything bad about him. Now that I am older, I am in love with the Halloween films.

You're dreaming if you think I'd leave my name

When I was young, I used to believe that if a part of your body wasn't covered by your blanket while sleeping at night, that a monster would come out of the closet and eat whatever was showing. This scared the crap out of me and I didn't find out this was false untill I fell asleep one night and didn't have on the covers.

After I saw E.T. as a kid I thought he lived in my closet and was really evil. Now to this day I still cannot watch that movie

You know the film "The Lion, Witch and Wardrobe"? Well, I used to open the doors to my wardrobe with my arms out and expect to go through to another world. I did it nearly everyday and I was always disappointed when there was nothing there but the back of my wardrobe!
