I once was lying in bed about to fall asleep I had my eyes closed when I got this feeling I was sliding I tried to open my eyes but they would not open in my mind I thought someone was at my window had opened it and was pulling me out the window when I finally opened my eyes I was so scared I curled up under the covers and went to sleep. I am still afraid of that end of the bed

when I was little I thought there were things under my bed that whould kill me or geve me bad dreams so I had to stare at a lamp and a picture with bunnys on them? and my older brother hates bunnys go figure. When I had to turn the lamp off I whould close my eyes exactly when the light turned off or else the things under my bed would give me bad dreems

I used to always jump from my bed to the floor then run because I thought there was something under my bed. I always would turn on the light jump to my bed then get somthing to turn the light off from my bed. I also always used to think that if I layed really really still in my bed the monsters wouldn't notice me and they would leave me alone. So I would always lay facing the wall everything covered up but the front of my faceas still as possible.

top belief!

When I was five or six years old, my mom noticed that I was very fidgety before I went to sleep. In reality, I moved my feet around as much as possible because I was afraid miniature leprechauns were going to steal my toes. I think this was the result of an unnatural fear of the "This Little Piggy" game, too many Lucky Charms, and a highly overactive imagination.

When I was 6, I thought there was a giant lobster under my bed, just waiting to grab me with his lobster claws and pull me under. My brother would always pretend that he was being pulled under my bed by the lobster. I was horrified!

I believed (kinda still do...) that there was a slow monster and a fast monster. If you moved slow, the slow monster would eat you, but if you moved fast, the fast monster would eat you. It was a no win situation. Grrr...

I also believed that if you would stay totally under your covers, that you would be safe from the monster looming over your bed. Of course, after a while I couldn't breathe and the monster always seemed to come on hot summer nights. I sweated the bed wet, but still wouldn't take the covers off. WEird.

When my son was about 5 he thought that the light-shade in his bedroon became a laser gun at night and would shoot him if he got out of bed. His favourite cuddly toy was a dog with long ears, and he would go to sleep with one of the dog's ears draped over his eyes so that the light couldn't tell if he was awake.

when i was little, i shared a bed with my older sister, Janelle. I would always kick off the covers so she told me that if my feet were uncovered, i'd get eaten by the floor demons like our brother "Stephen". (We never had a brother named Stephen.) She told me they we on holiday, visiting their cousins the wall trolls, and they loved to snack on little toes. I was so traumatized that i still curl the covers under my feet!

I used to believe that there were demons under my bed, so when it came time to get in I would take a running leap so that anything under there couldn't grab my legs.
Sad thing is, when I watch scary movies at night, I find myself doing it again. I'm 26. I'll hang my head in shame now.

When I was 8 I couldn't sleep one night. But then, I heard some kind of a low sounding growl that my young mind translated as a lion underneath my bed. It wouldn't stop growling, so I made a mad dash into my parents' room screaming "MOM! MOM! THERE'S A LION UNDER MY BED!"

It turns out that the "lion" was my dad snoring. We bug him about it to this day.

i used to have a bed with drawers underneath the mattress that went all the way to the floor (so there was no underneath). Anyway, there was a big narrow "drawer" that went all the way to the back that was empty, and i used to believe that if aliens or monsters came, i could hide in there and they would never be able to find me.

sometimes i wake up at night and i think that there are aliens watching me from outside the window. i'm so scared, i can't open my eyes... i don't even try to move any part of my body! i guess this has something to do with the stuff i was just dreaming, because i think i'm old enough to know that there are no aliens that are watching me ;-) but how can i know if i'm too scared to check?

when i was about 4 or 5 i watched this show called "are you afraid of the dark?" basically, it was a few kids telling ghost stories in front of a camp fire. well, on one particular episode, they told a story of a comic book villian who came to life. he was this evil jester guy and when he laughed, blue goo oozed out of his mouth. i thought it was fine until i went to bed that night. for some reason, i thought that this guy was hiding under my bed and no matter how i got out of my bed, he would get me. i laid there hugging my stuffed animal in hysterics until my parents came in and turned the light on. then i was fine but i never watched that episode the same.

I always thought that the "things" that lived under the bed would get me if my hands or feet stuck out of the covers. Heaven forbid if they ACTUALLY dangled over the edge. THAT would be absolute death! Oh yeah, and if you have to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night when the lights are off, you have to RUN so they don't get you before you turn the lights on at the wall switch. I always wanted a lamp or nightlight beside my bed so it wouldn't be dark.

Up until I was at least 11, I used to believe that a family of gnomes, who's physical appearance was much like the common garden gnome, lived under my bed and would steal my "nerves" (the only thing that I can compare them to is brain cells, which makes no sense) if any appendage hung over the edge of the bed. Not until a fateful science class, did I truly learn what nerves were.

Still to this day, I cannot let myself hang off the bed.

IT STARTED WHEN I WAS LITTLE, I USED TO THINK THAT SOMETHING WOULD GRAB MY FEET IF THE LIGHT WAS OFF AND I WAS TOO CLOSE TO MY BED, SO I WOULD TURN OF THE LIGHTS AND RACE TO MY BED AS IF I WAS RACING THE LIGHT. SOMETIMES I DO IT NOW AS A HABIT. ALSO, SOMETIMES IF MY FEET STICK OUT OF THE COVERS OR HANG OVER THE EDGE, THAT SOMEBODY WOULD CHOP THEM OFF, SO I WOULD ALWAYS PULL MY LEGS CLOSE.
