When I was little I use to think that at night, alligators would live under your bed and try to grab your ankles if you would try to hop into bed. So if i had to go to the bathroom I would jump off my bed (i had to land at least a foot away) and when I came back from the bathrooms I would jump onto my bed from the floor and I could not be to close to the bed or they would grab me & bring me to thier secret alligator world and eat me. I still get scared sometimes to this day! 8D

I had to keep my back to the wall and face the other side because the black shadow men wouldnt get me from the wall or if I was facing them.

When i was but a wee nipper i was convienced that under my bed lived, not only monsters (that were pink and fluffy and kind of resembled Care-bears), but also two of my friends. the monsters and my friends would sneak out at night and steal my toys then very kindly replace them the next night. I suppose i wasn't really out to scare myself.
I also believed for years and years that a monster would come into my room and wouldnt hurt me if i stayed really still...!?

I used to believe that there was a person under my bed, waiting to kill me, so I always yelled "COME OUT BAD GUY!" Before I went to bed. I still do sometimes. =)

when i was little, my dad told me that when i went to bed i had to push all of my hair off my face. i somehow came up with the belief that there was an alligator under my bed that wanted to brush my hair. so i always pushed my hair to the back of my head so the "alligator could brush it." i was a weird kid.

When I was little, I used to think that Indians lived under my bed and they would drag me under there if I got too close to the side of the bed, so I would leap on and off the bed so I wouldnt get near the edge... I believed this till I was about 7 actaully

I got over this when i was about 10 but it still bothers me thinking about it. When i would go to bed sometimes i would get hot and hang my hand or foot over the side of the bed out from under the covers, and i used to think something would come and grab either my hand or foot so i stoped doing that. And like i said it still bothers me now.

as a kid whenever i went into my parents giant bed, i used to think that at the foot of the bed, there was an alligator. and if you put your feet far enough under the covers, the alligator would bite off your feet. so now i sleep with my legs curled up.

When I was little, I wouldn't let my blankets hang down from my bed because I thought mice lived under my bed and would crawl up my blankets into my bed. Call me crazy, but in my mind, they were even dressed like the mice in Cinderella. I also made my dad check my closet everynight because I swore there were rats living in there.

In the movie "Angels in the Outfield" they had this one line "they're always watching" and from this line my nighttime scare began. I believed that oncec i got into bed all the angels would come from under my bed and just float around my bed and watch me. It totally freaked me out so i use to sleep under my blankets so that they couldn't see me. That way theyed get bored with me and leave.

Did anyone else think that if you were outside the covers, you were in danger, but inside, you were really safe and protected? I used to race to the toilet and back to get back into my bed! The irony!

When you put your ear flat on a spring mattress, you can hear the springs adjusting themselves. As a kid, I automatically believed that the sound was a smiley, friendly butcher man behind the deli counter at the grocery store chopping up some ham for my mom. ?

When I was a kid I use to believe that when I went to bed, and if I were to dangle my hands or feet over the edge... A monster with a chainsaw would come up and saw off the parts that were dangling over... Needless to say, I always slept in the fetal position...

When i was little i would be afraid to go to bed because i was always afraid of chickens in there. I guess i was dreaming about them or something because i would always kick to get rid of them

When I was a child my room had brown carpet and the hallway had green carpet. I used to believe there were aligators under my bed since the brown carpet was like a swamp and the green was like land. I would get ready for bed in the bathroom then jump to my bed without touching the floor for fear of the aligators getting me.

Not exactly UNDER my bed, but..

After watching an episode of Oprah about fire hazards, I was unbelievably afraid that my house would catch fire while I slept. I was never scared of fire during the day but it always felt so hot when I fell asleep, like the flames were coming...

I realized 2 years later that my bed was right next to the radiator.

Thanks Oprah. >:/

I was feeling sleepy one night and it was my first real night in a proper bed. I was just dozing off when I heard a roar from under my bed. I made my Dad come in and look for the Lion that was under there but he never found it!
To this day, I still jump into bed so that nothing can grab my ankles and I always tuck my feet into the end of the duvet so nothing can tickle me in the night.
