After my evil parents MADE me go to bed every night, ALONE, upstairs in our OLD, creaky house, I used to believe that in order to stay alive I had to be a very brave little girl and follow these certain rules:

1st, eyeball the room very carefully, make sure the stuffed anims were not alive & breathing;
2nd, I had to talk to my stuffed anims really nicely to make sure they liked me and wouldn't suffocate me ("Cat's Eye") in my sleep;
3rd, I would crouch down and make sure no monsters were yet under my bed;
4th, (this all happened from the doorway) I shut off the liteswitch, then sprint to the bed (I memorized how many steps it took) and jumped into bed completely ingulfing my body in blankets. No skin could show except my nose to breathe. I knew the boogie man was under my bed at that point, until morning.
Good night!!

That under the bed live lots of things with hands that would grab your ankle. I used to think that if you jump on to your bed from a distance the hands couldn't reach you. I still do this.

I believed that a great white shark, like the one from Jaws, swam below the carpet at the foot of my bed. For years, I slept with my legs pulled tight to my chest. This way, if he decided to jump up and devour my bed, my legs would be intact and I could run for help.

i always thought that there was a creature living under my bed that you could never see. i always said my prayers at night and would kneel down by the side of my bed, until i thought that the monster would grab you by the legs , pull you under and eat you alive! so instead of kneeling by the bed i would kneel on the bed because i was sure that it could not reach me from there...i just recently noticed that it wasn't true but i still have my doubts!!!!

when i was young, i used to beleive that spiders and insects couldn't get to you at night if you kept both arms and legs on the bed all night.
even now, i don't let my legs hang over the edge.....especially in the dark

When I was about six, I used to believe there was a snake under the quilt at the bottom of my bed. I used to sleep curled up so not to kick it. My dad (not knowing about this) hid a rubber spider at the bottom of my bed on night. When I touched it with my foot, I threw it across my bedroom and screamed my head off!!!

I was seven when my older sister took me to see Hellbound Hellraiser II. I remember being so terrified by that movie that I had nightmares for months. I used to think that Pinhead was under my bed at night waiting to take me to hell. To this day, I can't watch that movie without being a little frightened, and I've never forgiven my sister for making me watch it the first time.

When I was around 5 years old, my parents went to the next door neighbors for the evening after putting me to bed. I snuck back out of bed and watched the "Trilogy of Terror" (Karen Black) in the television. The story with the little tiki doll so scared me, that until I was about 14 years old, I used to run and jump from the door onto my bed so it couldn't get me from under the bed. scary.

I used to believe that there were these hands that would extend out from underneath my bed and try to take the sheets or comforter off of me while I was trying to go to sleep. I had many sleepless nights.
