I used to be terrified that a Dalek would get me once i got out of bed. So I used to make my twin brother turn out the light with the pull switch, even though it hung by me in the top bunkbed, he had to get out of the bottom bed to do it. I also made him come with me to the toilet every time. He never complained once! I love you Adrian!!

My sister believed that if her feet stuck out from under the duvet an earwig would grasp onto a toe and the fire brigade would have to be called to remove it.

I used to believe there was a man who lived under my bed, and when I got out of bed to turn the light off, I had to jump from as far as I cound back onto the bed incase he grabbed my legs before I got to the bed.

When I was young, I used to believe that while I was sleeping at night, the ghosts of dead people would pass over my bed - over and over again. So I had to make sure I didn't breathe too heavy or they would know I was alive and want to take me with them - if they didn't see my breathing they would leave me alone.....
Strange, I know.... :-)

When I was about 7, I was so convinced that there were monsters under my bed that every night I would hide under my duvet, and stuff soft toys down both sides to protect me. As if that weren't enough, I would then cover my head with the duvet, tucking it under my pillow just to be sure it wouldn't be pulled off by the monsters. I then lay frozen in that position until I went to sleep, or ran out of oxygen, whichever came first.

I used to believe that creatures lived between my bed head and the wall. I had to sleep with my pillow stuffed in the gap between the mattress and the headboard in-case something reached up and touched me.

I used to believe that their was a disembodied arm (up to the elbow) that used to live in the gap between my and my twin sisters beds.

I thought that if i slept with my arms up outside my covers it would come and tickle me under my arms and wouldn't stop. I imagined it used to move in see-sawing motion....oh it's just too horrible

my sister and i used to believe that there were gremlings hiding under our parents bed so whenever we wanted to get onto their bed or off it we jumped very quickly across, since we thought that if we were too slow the gremlings would reach out there long boney arms and grab our ankles. Thankfully this didnt last too long....

I used to believe the dust "bunnies" under my bed were real bunnies! I used to try and crawl under my bed to try and catch them, or see if they would bite me! One did "bite me," but later I found out it was an static electricity shock.

I believed that the crocodile that bit off Captain Hook's hand in Peter Pan resided under my bed. I always made sure I didn't dangle arms or legs over the side of the bed in case it was me next. Even now, at the age of 34,I can't sleep if there is a ticking clock in the room.

I used to believe that if I laid on my back in my bed that the monster hiding underneath it couldn't grab me if I was watching. So I never slept on my side.
