when i was 5, i stayed up way past my bedtime because i was hyper. it was about 9 pm, and i was almost asleep when i heard two or three big thumps outside my room. that night my mom had told me not to let the bed bugs bite. i thought that the thumps were a giant bed bug! i believed it too, until my mom told me otherwise... when i was 8.
I used to run and jump onto my bed from a distance b/c I thought something was gonna grab my legs if I didn't. Then I would cover my whole body except my head with the blankets and tuck them under me so even if there was something under there it couldn't grab my bare skin. I'm 23 now, and I don't jump to the bed, but I still have to cover up from the waist down at all times while I'm sleeping b/c it kinda freaks me out to leave poking out.
I used to belive that the minute the lights were turned off in my bedroom, slimy, slithering, snake-like things came out from under my bed and layed on the floor! I was terrified to get out of bed untill my mom turned on the light! To this day I'm still afraid of snakes. But for a different reason............
i use to belive that a man lived under my bed a night "the shadow man" and was scared to get out of bed although he was ment to protect me i was really scared!!!
I used to believe that there was a totally diffrent world under my bed. I also used to believe that my stuff animals (I'm a boy who collected stuff animals but I not ashamed to admit it) could talk to me and I could talk to them and they where a look out crew that protected me.
when i was little, like 6 or 7 i used to watch the show Are You Afraid of the Dark and i remember one time there was an episode where a kid was standing right near his bed and he got dragged under into a new scary world, so i would always get a running start to jump onto my bed from afar. and i would be sure not to sleep with either my arms or legs hanging off the edge so the monster couldnt reach up and grab them.
When I was little my big brother told me our dad could read minds, because every time I cleaned my room I would shove things under my bed and my dad would always say "Did you clean under your bed?" I was kinda freaked out
I used to believe there were witches under my bed, and that if I lay exactly in the middle and didn't hang my arms over the side, they couldn't reach me, because they couldn't get out from under the bed.
I thought there was a whole house of tiny aliens under my bed, and since they didn't have enough beds, they had to take turns sleeping outside (on the floor by my bed) and that I had to share my blanket with it (the part hanging over the bed.)
I used to have these pajamas that had a big lion on them... I was afraid to wear the pajamas because the lion would come alive and eat me in the night.
When my parents told me "Sleep tight, don't let the bed bugs bite", i use to believe if I kicked my feet really really hard in bed, they would all crawl/fall down to the end of the bed, and since the end of the bed was so cold, they would freeze, so i would be safe.
I used to believe after watching a scary movie, that the devil would pop out from under my bed and grab me! It's funny now.....but at the time, wasn't so funny. I had countless nights w/out sleep. LOL! =)
I used to believe that if you were up at midnight then freddie crugar and other evil things would come and make you go to bed!!!!!
My mom called the dust under my bed kitties i believed there was kitties living under my bed.
When I was a little kid I believed that there always was a monster under my bed who's going to eat my shoes if I left them on the floor. So every night I put my shoes on the table so that the monster could not eat it. Until age of five or so...
I used to believe that my ceiling had giant razor blades hidden in it. They would come down around the four sides of my bed while I was sleeping and any body part that hung over the bed would get chopped off. I have no clue why I thought this, I guess I just had a really active imagination.
ever since i was a little girl and my parents made me watch this stupid show called are you afraid of the dark, the episode with Zebo the clown, i've been terrified of clowns. I was terrified to leave my feet uncovered even if it meant that i'd sweat to death, it was better than having that damn clown grab me from under the bed. also, i was afraid of just looking down there and seeing him smile.. infact, that was my worst nightmare. still is
Thanks to a mix of the series V and an Star Wars action figure (that I still have!), I used to believe that each night an alien with tentacles hanging from his mouth would appear next to my bed. I would lie on my stomach and bend my knees so my feet were up, which would create a bulge in my sheets that was actually supposed to be an alien spy that was reporting on what I'd been up to. The tentacle-mouth alien would talk further with the spy, not knowing the spy was really me.
I used to believe that my duvet cover was monster-proof and for some reason, monsters couldn't eat the top half of my head. So I was perfectly safe with my nose poking out over the top.
I used to believe when I was little that when you went to bed at night, guys from the mafia were under your bed and would shoot your legs if you got up. I would wait till the morning to go to the bathroom...
