When I was very young I used to sleep in a sleeping bag on top my bed underneather the sheets though. I was always wondering where my feet were. I could feel strange things down there. Every time I looked I couldn't see anything because it was so dark down there.
One time something pinched my toe. (it was the zipper but I didn't know that.)
One day I had to find out, so crawled down to the bottom of my sleeping bag. Boy was I surprised when I got stuck. I thought something had grabbed me and I start yelling and screaming... and my dad had to come and rescue me.
When I was about 4 or 5, I thought that little trolls lived inside my pillow. I even imagined that I could here them marching around in there (the marching noise I heard turned out to be the beating of my heart in my ear). I imagined them making intricate tunnels among the cotton, and carrying shovels over there shoulders. I knew they couldn't get me unless I put my hands under the pillow. Then they would bite the skin off my hand and I would wake up with two skeleton hands lying under the pillow.
i was just little when my mum told me if i got out of bed at night the spiders under the bed would come and eat my face even now i check under the bed to make sure there is nothing there
my dad told me that there was a "toe monster" under my bed and i found out it wasn't true until I was like 7 or 8
I watched "Are you afriad of the dark?" when i was about 6 or so and there was an episode about the sand man stealing children by grabbing their legs and pulling them under the bed... after that i refused to just step into and out of my bed at night... i had to jump from or land 2-3 feet away from my bed... otherwise he just might grab me.
I used to believe when I was about 7 that if, after climbing into bed at night and turning off all the lights, if I got up out of bed there was "something" under mine that would cut my feet of when the touched the floor. Anytime I got thirsty, I would lay there about 5 minutes comtemplating ways to outsmart the evil down below and pretend to snore then jump further than his arms could possibly be.
I used to believe that if any part of my body hung out of my bed that a shark would bite it! To this day (now 29 years old) I still have the covers over my head and can't bare to have any part of my body hanging over the bed, just incase!
Like many other children, I believed that if I had a foot or hand dangling over the side of my bed, something was going to grab it from underneith and pull me down with it. I still only put my foot or hand out if I can comfortably put it on the bed outside the covers. Also, I thought that there were vampires, witches and various monsters that would pop up on whatever side of the bed that my back was facing. The only way that I fixed it was to put my bed up against the wall and sleep on my left side. I still only comfortably sleep on my left side and only with my husband behind me and touching my back. If there is no one in bed with me (Husband or Kid(s)) I sleep on my stomach. I am 26 years old.
When I was younger I thought that there was an evil old, groty creature lived under my bed although only at night and sometimes it was Chuckie. I though he would reach his had up from under the bed and try to kill me. So I always had my bed in the corner so at least he couldn't get me from those two sides. Then I would line up all my stuffed animals on the remaining sides to keep him out.
I used to belive that if all of my body except my head was not covered by a blanket or sheet while I slept, a man would chop the exposed body parts off. Strangly enough, I wasn't scared by this.
when I was 7, I used to believe that if you opened your eyes at night, you would see a little man peek out from under your bed. then he'd grab you and pull you under. I still sleep with my eyes closed facing the wall.
I used to believe that there was a black bear under my bed and if any limb hung over the bed he would eat it
When I was small our hot water was heated by the coalfire. In the evening you could hear the rumblings from the water tank... I used to think that this noise was Wee Willie Winkie coming to check that if I was in bed yet - I ran to my room!
i was convinced dwarfs came from under my bed at night to play with my toys without permission. that made me mad just thinking of it.
When I was five my brothers told me about the boogie monster that lived under my bed. One night I got out my bed and this green hand came out from under the bed and grabbed me. Uknown to me at the time that it was actually my brother I trully thought there was a boogie monster living under my bed. It scared me so bad that to this day I can't stand having my hand or any limb hanging over the side of my bed.
i used to belive that monsters used to sneak from the sewers and slip through the gap under my door to hide under my bed i used to imagine one-eyed dinoragans (half-dinosaur, half-dragon) and lots more and my good mythical animals would know and dive under my bed and either frighthen them or eat them.
I used to believe that if i didnt cover my feet while in bed that someone would come and cut them off while i was sleeping.
When I was around 5 years old, my parents went to the next door neighbors for the evening after putting me to bed. I snuck back out of bed and watched the "Trilogy of Terror" (Karen Black) in the television. The story with the little tiki doll so scared me, that until I was about 14 years old, I used to run and jump from the door onto my bed so it couldn't get me from under the bed. scary.
One time as a child I had a high fever and was dilerious. My brother Bruce thought it wopuld be funny to get under my bed and slowly pull the covers off of me. I thought there was a witch under my bed that would get you if your skin was exposed. It freaked me out so bad that even now as an adult I have to have at least a sheet covering me.
once, when my big sister was being particualy mean to me one night, i crawled under her bed and layed on my back for an hour..
she believed in monsters under her bed, and when she got in i made monster noises and kicked the matress with my feet and she ran out screaming..
