when my brother was like 6, my older sister and i told him that if he didnt wear socks to bed this old man would come and eat your toes off. he believed us and wouldnt go near the egde of his bed at night and always worer socks. then my mom found out and grounded me and my sister..
When I was only 4 and my brother 7, my brother told me that the boogie man, an evil clown, goosebumps monsters, indiana jones, and michael jackson lived under my bed. I was so scared that I slept on my couch instead of the bed until I was in 2nd grade!
I was a very messy child. Whenever my parents would tell me to clean my room (which was extremely often), like so many other kids I would just shove everything under the bed. Well, eventually I'd want something back that I'd stuck under there. For some reason, whenever I went looking for that particular object, I could never find it, no matter what. So I soon developed the belief that there was a hole under my bed controlled by leprechuans, who kept stealing my stuff and throwing it down this hole in a desperate attempt to make me cry. Needless to say, it worked.
When i was younger i used to think that there was a boogyman under my bed and would grab my ankles, i thought this b/c of the Adams family. So once my sis. crawled under my bed and tried to grab my ankles. so i jumped on my bed andthrough a actioon figure under my bed and broke my sisters noes and concored my fear.
My sister used to hate when i had my feet out of the blanket, so one night she said "if you keep your feet out of the blanket while you sleep, leprachans will come and eat your toes!"
Ever since then, my feet have been under the blanket covers, even on the hottest of nights
when i was young,if ever I woke up at night,i did not dare to move as I thought that there were monsters around my bed waiting to jump on me at the slightest noise I make.so i used to wait for a farway vehicle to pass by to attract their attentions so that i could move a bit in my bed!
When I was little I saw the Coneheads, and one night I thought that one of them was under my bed....I was TERRIFIED, and even though my mom told me they weren't that stuck with me for a LONG time.
When I was young I used to believe their were giant rat demons walking around on the floor beneath my bunk bed. So every time I walked on the ground at night I'd yell "Jesus, save me!"
I used to believe that there were spiders under my bed and if i went too close to my bed they would attack my feet. So i always did a run-up-and-jump onto my bed, its pretty funny when u think about it.
I used to believe there were two men in suits and bowler hats under my bed whose sole purpose in life was to catch a glimpse of my arms or legs. I NEVER let my arms or legs out from under the covers.
I used to believr that when I went to sleep at night, the bed bugs and dustmites would come and suck my blood. My brother said that they were under my pillow so I never put my hand under my pillow for years!
I used to think that tigers would chew my limbs off while i was sleeping if any part of them was sticking out from under the bed clothes. So i would tuck the sheets and blankets under my body, and sleep on my back - without moving - all night. This continued residually until i was 28 or so... and now i can occasionally risk letting an arm or leg stick out when its really hot...
As a child I was afraid to lie near the crack between my bed and the wall, because I believed that at night blind aligators climbed up and down the wall, but that they couldn't hurt you unless they felt you (since they were blind, I guess).
I was terrified that if I sat on the edge of my bed, a hand from underneath would snatch out and grab my ankle. I used to leap to safety in the morning.
To this day I sleep in a captain's bed.
When i was but a wee nipper i was convienced that under my bed lived, not only monsters (that were pink and fluffy and kind of resembled Care-bears), but also two of my friends. the monsters and my friends would sneak out at night and steal my toys then very kindly replace them the next night. I suppose i wasn't really out to scare myself.
I also believed for years and years that a monster would come into my room and wouldnt hurt me if i stayed really still...!?
I had to keep my back to the wall and face the other side because the black shadow men wouldnt get me from the wall or if I was facing them.
when i was younger, if i woke up in the night i would always run to my parents room..along the way was the heater/air conditioner and if it was running as i went by i thought there was an old man that lived inside and was screaming so i would run by as fast and quietly as i could so he wouldn't be able to kill me
in the mornings i used to beleve there were sharks that got out from under the bed and onto my floor. i leaped out of bed so the sharks didnt eat me.
If it was night time I always jumped on my bed for fear of the mudd munster eating my shins off.
This monster was strangely conjured up by my mind by combining the monsters from Teddy Ruxbin and the horrible 'coooooooh...' snore sounds my dad made that could be heard across the hall.
Up until I was about age eight, I was insanely afraid of a pair of enormous feet the size of the bed itself would come out and smother me . . . for some reason, they had nice, well manicured, red-painted toenails.
