I used to think a giant crocodile lived under my bed, so I sent my little sister under there to get rid of it for me.

When I was little, I went to my grandma's house a lot. One day, my smaller cousin was there visiting too. He wanted to play with my toys but I told him no, and he started to cry. My grandmother sent me to her room to think about my actions. I was playing there with a small toy car, then it went under the bed. I reached for it and pulled out my grandma's dentures instead. I threw it across the room in fright and some teeth fell off. I started crying because I thought if I broke even some off, she couldn't use them anymore, and she would starve and die.

When I was six or seven, and I used to play on 'James Bond: Tomorrow Never Dies' on the Playstation 1, I would always go to bed, fearing that a terrorist with an assault rifle would pop up during the night and get me. I'm twelve now and have since got over this belief...thankfully.

I used to believe that the boogeyman lived under my bed. I was afraid to go to sleep at night because he was going to eat me. One night I lost a tooth and put it under my pillow for the tooth fairy. In the morning I told my dad that the toothfairy had forgotten to come because there was no money under my pillow. I remember the look of horror on his face as he told me that the boogey man must have ate her. I was afraid to even go in my room until my dad showed me the dollar that had fallen behind the bed.

So when i was maybe 5 or 6, i had this massive mess under my bed... and i was firmly convinced that there was a secret entrance under there somewhere that would take me to the land of the "little people" (a belief not helped by a winnie-the-pooh episode with much the same plot!). i dreamed constantly at night about going there and living among the little people and having a delightful time, and i somehow percieved the dreams to be actual nighttime visits. i thought the reason i couldn't get there when i tried during the day was because the little people hid the entrance. needless to say, i was heartbroken when i turned 7 and discovered i was too big to fit under the bed.

When I was about 7, I was so convinced that there were monsters under my bed that every night I would hide under my duvet, and stuff soft toys down both sides to protect me. As if that weren't enough, I would then cover my head with the duvet, tucking it under my pillow just to be sure it wouldn't be pulled off by the monsters. I then lay frozen in that position until I went to sleep, or ran out of oxygen, whichever came first.

When I was young I shared a bedroom with my brother; his bed was on one side of the room and mine on the other. I used to beleive that there was a wolf (like in the three little pigs)under my bed and a wolf under his bed. The wolves each had a walkie-talkie and would radio to each other and report to each other what my brother and I were doing. What a wild imagination I had, but then again, didn't we all?

when i was little, i was convinced that a big mean biker dude lived under the right side of my bed and watched me and kracked his knuckles when i slept. i never slept on my right side had a fear that if i woke up, this big mean smelly biker dude would see me,throw me on the back of his Harley-davidson and take me away. i'm 15,and in a new room from my childhood one, but i still have a habit of sleeping on my left side. yeah, i'm weird.

When I was about 7 or 8 years old I thought that if I didn't cover my whole body up witht he blanket Freddy Krouger would come and chp off anything out of the blanket. So I would lay there in the hot summer night having bad dreams and sweating all the while becaus I had the blanket over my head!

When I was about 5 or 6 years old, someone (probably my older sister) told me a story about how while you slept little skeleton ants and termites would come and carry your toys and such on their backs underneath your bed. I was scared to go under there and clean out the toys and so, one day when my mom was scolding me for not cleaning under my bed, I cried, "But mom I didn't put those there, it was the skeleton ants and termites who did it." To this day I still remember the look on her face as I explained this odd occurance through all my tears and crying.

When i was little i used to think there was a warewolf living under my bed and that if i came within reach, it would grab me and pull me under the bed and down into a hole in the floor to his creepy underground cave. So at bedtime i would stand at the door and cling onto the door frame, shimmy my way up and jump from there onto my bed. Even when my parents came out to check for monsters under there, i always just believed they were plotting with the warewolf and tried to trick me into walking close to the bed. Thankfully, i was too clever to believe them.

when i was a little kid, i believed that there were monsters under my bed because one time when i was like 5 my mom got mad at me for ruining her new bedrom wallpaper (i colored over it lol) she was like 'Leah! Come here!' i came and then she said 'did you draw pictures with a sharpie, all over my new walls!?' i nodded slowly and then she was like 'Leah, i can't believe it! you should know better! that was a very naughty thing you did! the monsters under your bed are gonna get you!' obviously she was just kidding she was mad and that's why she said it. so that's what i thought until i was 7 and a half and i was thinking about the time when i was 5 and she told me that there were monsters under my bed and that i got terribly scared from then on that one day, the monsters from under my bed would jump out and eat me. so i walked up to my mom and said, just wondering, 'mom, is there some kind of spray you can buy at the store to kill the monsters, like you do with the ants that get in the house every august?' she took a deep breath and she was like 'dear...there are no monsters under your bed, and monsters are make-believe. i'm sorry i ever said that, i was just mad.' i was in so much shock lol!

Till I was about 10, i thought that if I left one of my body parts over the bed in the night while I was sleeping, a hand would come out and pull me under!

I used to believe that at night bears with machetes would come into your room and if you had not pulled the blankets right up under your chin they would be able to cut off your head.

It's not technically under my bed but when I was 4 or 5 we lived in a guest house. I was always listening to my parents conversations, and they always seemed to be talking about the 'punters'. I believed the punters were evil people with a leader called Captain Hook who stole little children from their beds in the night. I stayed really still when I heard my heartbeat when I was in bed because I believed it was the punters climbing up a ladder to my window to kidnap me!

After seeing the movie The Little Mermaid, I was totally convinced for about a month that Ursula was going to come out from under my bed and wrap her tentacles around me. I slept with my arms to my sides and my legs locked together so she couldn't reach.

When I was younger I had a trundle bed that had a second pull out bed below it. I was convinced that the Grinch lived in the extra bed and if I hung my hand or foot off the bed while I was asleep he would pull me under.
The Grinch wasn't just going to steal Christmas, he was going to steal me too.
