sucking my thumb

I always used to suck my left thumb!! until I was quite old I am ashamed to say! My Mum persuaded me to give up this habit by telling me if I kept sucking my thumb it would end up falling off!

When i was a little kid i would suck my thumb.
my grandfather told me if i sucked my thumb long enough it would turn into a fork.

I had a really bad habit of sucking my thumb, and I sucked it until I was 9 years old. (the only reason I stopped was because of an expander in my mouth. There just wasn't room for my thumb anymore!) My grandpa used to tell me all the time that if I kept sucking my thumb, I would grow a monkey's tale!! It just made me suck it more

When I was little I believed that my double jointed "hitch hikers" thumbs were because of I sucked it so much and my left thumb goes back so it my thumb looks straight and my right thumb goes back less and I remember sucking my left thumb more so I thought it was because of sucking it.

i am 15 and just gave up sucking my thumb (haven't done it for about 2 weeks now) and the ownly reason i stopped was because i was told that if i didn't that in a few years my teeth would end up sticking right out of my mouth!

My mums boyfriends thumb got chopped off by a chainsaw when he was cutting down a tree so when we first met him he told me his thumb fell off because he used to suck it. Then everytime i sucked my thumb he wud wave his thumb in the air and eventually made me stop

When i was little i sucked my thumb and my mum said if i didn't stop it i would have teeth like a bunnys. But i never actually stopped sucking my thumb! so here i am now at the age of 13 about to get braces! (i still suck my thumb though)

When my sister was little, she used to suck her thumb. My mom and dad tried to get her out of the habit, so my older sister and I figured we'd help... and give her nightmares.
We told her a story about a man who sucked his thumb and about how he was homeless because nobody liked him for it. We told of how one day, he had to go to the hospital beacuse his thumb started bleeding and how it fell off. Everday, we would add on to the story of this man's thumb. To this day, she won't even look at her thumb.

when i was little my mom asked me every morning what flavor my thumb was, the flavor changed everyday. i'm 17 and still suck my thumb, it doesn't have flavors anymore though. gosh i miss it.

When I was little I would always be sucking on my thumb. I couldn't fall asleep without sucking on it. But one day my mom and my dad sat me down and told me if I didn't stop I would have teeth like bugs bunny. This scared me but I still continued to do it. They tried everything from putting pepper on it to making me wear mittins. I guess they were right about the bugs bunny teeth, because here I am at 16 still sucking my thumb and I have buck teeth. (I still need to suck my thumb to be able to fall asleep at night) Shhhhhhhh!
