When I was little, my mom said: If you donīt stop sucking your thumb, I cut it off with my scissor. I donīt hear about that and next day she caught me sucking my thumb when I watched tv. Thumb out, she said, but I wonīt so she ran in the kitchen and came back with her scissor. She pulled my thumb out of my mouth and put it in the scissor. So I cried an said please donīt cut my thumb off. She removed the scissor. And so I stopped sucking my thumb

I used to believe that if you sucked your thumb to much that it would fall off or you would have a wrinkled grandma thumb so I never sucked my thumb if I had a choice. My mom said I never used to suck my thumb when I was a baby. I stand by that till this very day and my nieces and nephews dont suck their thumbs either and not that I believe it anymore I am thankful just in case! Ha Ha Ha.

Growing up my younger sister sucked her thumb until she was almost 12 (I kid you not) I used to think that if she kept sucking it, it would be sucked away into nothingness, like a lolipop.

Since I had a older brother who was 6 years older then me and had already gorwn out of this habit, I didnt even know kids did this. I assumed you did it for the first week after birth then just stopped. Well, when i went to my first sleep-over, there was a girl there who was older then me, (i think she was 6) and she sucked her thumb. I thought she she did it, it must be cool. I went home and sucked my thumb. My mom told me that it was immature and babyish so i was to stop. I did, but i didn't believe her until years later.

My cousin used to be addicted to sucking his thumb when he was little. We thought his thumb would get really big if he kept on with this habit. Shoot, he didn't give a crap. He kept on until he was just turning 6, but still did it in his sleep. I laughed at him too.

When i was little, I sucked my right thumb. One day, it got slammed in a door. It hurt too bad to suck, so my mom told me to suck my left thumb. I tried it and made a yucky face. My mom asked me what was wrong. I told her it tasted like strawberries. She asked what the good one tasted like. I said chocolate.

I was always told to stop sucking my thumb by other people but never my parents I even had a baby sitter put all sorts of stuff on it to get me to stop but I never did...and to this day I still suck it I'm almost 18, and my parnets still don't say anything this is actually more of a lack of displine story than thumb sucking, but I think the only way to stop is to WANT to or to have it fall off...none of my friends know I do it!....I still haven't decided if I wanna tell my husband I do it or just try to quit when I get married one day... :P

ya never know
