Once, after a very bad flight, I felt sick in my stomach, and I told my mom. She replied that it was probably because the flight was turbulent. After that, I always called throwing up turbulence.

My little brother used to believe that he couldn't touch anything pink, or it would cause an incurable rash where it touched. The only way to prevent the rash would be to "wipe off" the pink with blue ASAP.
When I was about 8 I thought it was really grown up using perfume. I put some on my wrists and neck (like I saw my mum doing) and went out. Before we left I some-how licked my arm (where the perfume flavour had spread) and it tasted funny. I knew perfume was poisonous and got really, really worried. I was crying and telling everyone I loved them, until mum broke it to me by saying "Oh darling, such a little amount won't kill you." I was really embarrassed and said, "Yes... I know THAT mum I was just checking."
i have a scar on my forehead from walking into a table when i was 3 (i wasn't too bright). people used to ask me how i got it and i told them that my daddy punched me. i'm not quite sure why but my goodness did he got some strange looks
I was in a car accident once.. nothing serious just a bump. I was little though and when i got home i peed and checked for blood... I thought the jolt had caused internal bleeding and it would come out in my pee
my dad has always had a pretty severe alergy to poison ivy, and i thought that when he got poison ivy it made bubblegum grow out of his skin. i later learned that the medicine he put on to relieve the itch was just pink.
When i was about 6ish, i fell off my bike and grazed my knee then i insisted on crawling around on the concrete. My mum asked me what i was doing and i told her i was looking for my skin!
I USE TO BELIEVE THAT WITH A WOMAN WAS FLAT CHESTED . SHE HAD BREAST CANCER!!
One time when I was little I was sitting on the toilet a very long time so my mom told me that if you sit on the toilet too long, you'll get a rash sort of thing on your butt. The only way to get it off is to go to the hospital and they have to cut it off. My mom then told me that she had it when she was going to the hospital to give birth to me. I probably believed that rash story longer than any other childhood belief. It took me while to realize that my mom never had part of her butt cut off right before she gave birth to me, I would have heard about it more than that one time!
when i was little, a mean little friend of mine who lived across the road from me tole me that if you cut yourself, and you lick/ drink your own blood your toung would grow really big, after that i had a phobia about cutting my mouth just incase some blood went on my toung!!!

I once believed that Band-Aids (this was before they had the easy-remove kind) were used for the sole purpose to make you forget the pain you already had, due to the fact that they were so painful to remove!
I thought that if u said u felt sick wen u didnt and u had medicine wen u didnt need it you would get that illness, eg if u had panadol wen u had a headache u would get a headache
I had visited a neighbour's house and noticed she had a huge scary scab on her lip. I asked her daughter what it was and she told me it was a coleslaw. When my granny put some coleslaw in a salad one day I had a big screamy fit and refused to go near it. I avoided coleslaw for years.

I used to believe that Rheumatic fever was romantic fever and you got it if you fell in love. Even though I had rheumatic fever as a child, probably because I loved David Cassidy, I didn't realize the truth until I was in nursing school.
I used to believe that boys had cooties
When i was about 4 i though that when i had chicken pox inside my mom that i had scratched my back on her ribs to stop the iching. man i was stupid
i thought that sewing pins would give me a disease if i pricked my finger on one (i think my mom told me just to be careful). today i am really careful with pins and if i do poke myself i have this instant instinct that its bad!

When I first heard of the bubonic plague, my mom told me it was the black plague, for about a year i thought she said "black play" and it was a playground with swings, slides, etc. that were painted black, and if you went on them, you died
when i was 4 years old, my mom got into a jet-ski accident and broke 3 ribs. after she had recovered a little, the doctor had prescribed painkillers to make her feel better. One day she joked that she was "all drugged up", and I had just seen a comercial about how bad drugs are. i panicked and hid all of the medicine in my whole house. i believed that medicine was illegal drugs for about 3 years, and i would refuse to take any. :D
