When I was little, I used to believe I could magically appear in Chicago if I completely covered myself in a sheet on my mom's bed and then spun around and around with the sheet on me. Then I'd take the sheet off my head and I'd ask my mom if I was in Chicago yet.

When I was about 3 I thought I could fly. I was going to be a witch for Halloween and all the witches on television could fly. So why couldn't I? I too my broom and my witch hat and jumped off the counter in the kitchen. Needless to say, I learned I couldn't fly the hard way.

I used to believe I was the fastest boy in the world because I once crossed a large gym in four seconds(honestly!)and all these people were wondering how I went that fast.I was 10. Now I feel like I feel like I'm gonna get a heart attack whenever I run that fast.

I used to think that some how I could control the weather depending on my emotions, and some times, when I was really upset that the wind would try to comfort me...at least it was fun!

I used to think I had the ability of telekinesis (moving objects with your mind). I don't know why I thought this, but one day I invited my friend over and tried to show her. Obviously, I couldn't do it. I just told her my powers weren't working.

I used to believe I had x-ray vision because I could see through objects like my hand if I brought it close to my face. Of course, it was just because it was only covering one eye! Durrr!

I used to believe I could "turn off" my nose at will when there was a nasty smell. I was just breathing through my mouth, but I didn't think anyone else could do it!

My parents always told me that anything was possible if i tried hard enough. Combining that thought with my new knowledge about evolution and how species ajust themselves to the surroundings, i figured that if i walked backwards to school every day, eyes would grow out of my neck. I did that for weeks, but i didn't tell anyone because i wanted it to be a surprise. To my disappointment i couldn't feel anything grow in my neck, so i finally asked my dad how long evolution normally takes. 1000 years sounded a bit too much for me, so i gave it up and went back to my life planting candy in the garden "because how do you know it won't grow if no one has ever tried it before".

that if I flapped my arms hard enough, I could get airborne.

I was absolutely convinced that when I held my hand in front of only one eye and left both eyes open, I acquired x-ray vision and could see through my own hand.

A few friends and I were under the impression that we could make the wind blow, whenever we wanted. There was a wooded area with a dirt hill.. and if we sat on the hill and thought real hard about wind blowing, it would blow. Hmm.. the fact that it was Autumn wasn't considered.

When I was maybe 4 or 5 years old, I got one of those helium balloons from somewhere. On the way home, we stopped to visit my grandma and while I was going in, I accidentally let go of the balloon and it flew off into the sky. I was quite distraught, and I begged my grandma to go inside, get her wings (which was actually an apron she always wore) and fly to get my balloon. She insisted she didn't have wings, but I knew the truth.

When I was little, I used to think that if I sucked in really hard and held my breath, I would be as thin as paper. I loved to scare my mom back then so when she came to tuck me in I would do that under the covers. I was so upset every night when she saw me.

I used to think that I could scream at a silent pitch that only dogs could hear. I still have part of me that believes that a bit (I'm 35) because I remember doing it and dogs reacting. Funny since I now know dogs were reacting to the squeels that would slip out as I did whatever vocal thing I was doing. It's just the belief was so strong, and a powerful and cool one, that I guess I still want to believe it's possible. Life is all about what you believe!

I used to belive that I could "throw" my voice by yelling into my folded arm at the elbow. I would hide and do this and when people looked around I thought they heard my voice coming from the other direction.

A freind of mine tld his younger sister he could teach her to fly, she believed him and after running around the back yard flaping her arms about for a while over a few days he told her he thought she was ready.

He took her to the top of the stairs and hepled her climb over the railing, then told her to flap like crazy and jump... the 4 metre drop meant she broke her arm!

About six weeks after it came out of the plaster he said she did not flap hard enough... gues what, yep you guessed it, she did the same jump and broke the other arm!

When I was about five years old and in kindergarten, I went on a field trip that took a long time to drive to. I believed that if I growled like an animal, the bus would move faster, and we'd get there quickly. I have no idea why I believed that.

When my sister was about 8, I convinced that she was invisible. I had her going for about ten minutes, and all it took was saying "Where'd you go?! I can't see you?!" She got all up in my face and was making goofy faces at me, thinking that she was safe because, logically, I couldn't see her.
