We used to believe that if we read lots of books we would get special powers and move stuff across the room with our eyes like Matilda.

I thought that if I chewed paperclips I would develop metal teeth that could bite through concrete. I nearly swallowed one once (i was about 8). Only way I ever got metal teeth was through having a brace.

I used to believe you could "project" images in your mind by concentrating really hard, so IfI wanted to show my parents an idea I had, I just had to concentrate and beam it onto the wall.

My brother told my sister once that she'd be able to do magic tricks if she should drink a raw egg.
She did it and was very very pissed to say the least..

When I was a kid, I used to think that my parents knew everything that I was thinking, and used to think of the worst things possible and see if they would react.

When i was a child, would make vocalize at as high a pitch as i could. When i would not make any sound at all, i assumed that i was producing ultrasonic pitches and that only dogs could hear me.

When i was young i use to think that my mum and dad had some sort of special brain power, and even when i was away from them they were able to see everything i did, here everything i'd say, and even hear everything i thought!

When I was a kid, I thought that if I could swing high enough, I would be able to fly when I jumped off the swing. Not from other places, though, just swings...if I jumped from anywhere else, my (invisible) wings wouldn't work because I was moving too slowly and I'd crash into the ground. But that might have been because I was terrified of standing on high places as a child...

When I was little, I was absolutely convinced that if I could just get my parents to attach the furniture to the ceilings I'd be able to walk on the ceilings normally. I still want an upside-down room, and I'm 32.

Some scummy poor kid at school (you know the short scrawny sort with greasy basin hair) got electrocuted by a telephone (?) which explained his amazing strength when annoyed - totally out of scale to his size

I used to believe that i was Luke Skywalkers younger brother and that when i was 12 i would have jedi powers and would be able to contact luke with my mind and get him to pick me up in his spaceship, this was to be the first of many disappointments in my life.

I used to think I could fly. No joke. I wasn't on pot as a child. I also thought that Care Bears were real. I had imaginary friends too.

I was once told that if i closed my eyes that I would suddenly be hundreds of feet up in the air. I believed this for many years and whenever I tried to do it that I wasn't closing them hard enough. So I continued to try until I asked the person who had told me, I think it was my babysitter, to show me. When she tried she also failed and I soon realised that I would never be able to tell if I had so I gave up trying.

when i was about five years old, i woke up and stood on my cabin bed, breathed in deeply and then flew around my bedroom before landing on the floor and climbing back into my bed and falling asleep. to this day there's a part of me that believes i really did fly and that it wasn't just a dream...

During the height of The A Team's popularity I was given a Mr T pencil eraser, I was absolutely convinced that if I squeezed the eraser hard and long enough Mr T's facial expressions would change from angry to happy, I swear it happened once, then again perhaps not, unless.....

I used to believe that my dreams were real. I never gave up trying to fly, if I could do it in my dreams then why can't I in real life?!

I was about 4 and the first Superman was shown on TV. After the film finished, I thought I could fly like Superman. So I got onto the coffee table then 'flew' off. Then I knew I couldn't fly as my face got caught up in the gas fire grill (it was off at the time) and cut my face in several places, which one of these has turned into a noticeable scar under my lip.
