I must have had a dream when I was a little girl that I could levitate by flapping my hands whilst jumping in the air. For ages I thought this was true and then tried to show my brother who clearly thought I was mad. As did I when I fell back to earth without so much as a second in the air, I was totally convinced I'd shown him before. Very disappointing!

i used to have this recurring dream where i was sort of flying through the local k-mart, but it was more like a cross between floating and swimming, making my way through all the racks of reasonably priced clothing. anyway, the dream was so real to me that for years i was convinced that there was some point when i was actually able to fly in that k-mart. i was always so dissapointed when it didn't happen again.

My brother told me that if you ate a slug you'd be able to fly. Naturally curiosity overcame me, and I only discovered he was lying after trying to eat one.

My friend told me she had a special gift from god. She had powers in her stomach that enabled her to fly and distribute candy to airplane passengers. She claimed I wasn't ready for these powers because I my body was too small to handle them.

When I was I a kid I'd pluck out pieces of grass and eat the root. I'd say it gave me super strength and I flip and cartwheel all over the lawn.

I remember being about 3 years old and going outside to play one very windy day. I jumped up into the air and recall having stayed there for what seemed to be an inordinate amount of time. I have never forgotten that moment. At age 41 swear it really happened. I still wonder why I was able to remain aloft just that one time. Was it that I was so light and simply was able to somehow catch the wind just right like a kite? Or, was my ability to use mind over matter just better honed at age 3 than it has been ever since?

I thought that I could control the weather. So, I would think things like, "The rain is going to stop in 2 seconds and I can go play outside". It worked once but, of course, it was pure coiencidence. I suppose I had a god complex at the age of four.

If you flapped your arms fast enough you cuold fly like a bird. My friends and I tested this many times from a garage roof. We were never achieved flight. I guess we couldn't flap hard enough

I used to believe I could control the weather.. the thing is everytime I wanted wind or rain or snow eerily it would happen. I still can't explain it snowing on my birthday every time I wished for it. I live in a city in the US that gets snow almost never, maybe you can explain it or maybe I really DID control the weather. Yeah right, and maybe pigs DO fly!

I used to believe that if enough people would stare at a single point in, say, a brick wall for long enough, they could collectively burn a hole through that wall.

I used to believe that on my 13th birthday I would recieve all kinds of special powers. When I didn't get them, I was pretty disappointed.

I used to suck the ink out of markers, thinking it would give me super powers. Luckily, Crayolas are nontoxic.

I was so sure I was bionic that I gathered some schoolmates together to demonstrate my superhuman powers by pushing my school a few feet. To my great surprise, it didn't even budget.

From Janie: When I was little, I had flying dreams so real I was sure I could fly.Getting started was always tricky and I had to use special breathing techniques to get off the ground (never in a Superman position but always upright like airborn doggy paddle)... ...I still have these dreams...

The quoted bits are exactly the same as what i had and sometimes still have (i'm like 21 now :)

Its sad i know, but i LIKE my sleep!

I used to believe that I was one of nine stars who came to this solar system from God (who was the sun). We each went to our own planet and I was chosen to go to Earth. What I would at times do to fulfill my mission was stand in a weird X position with my legs and arms spread out (like pausing while your doing jumping jacks)so I would look like a star. This would allow magical powers to flow out of me and make the world a very happy place. My best imaginary friend was at first a strange-looking girl with purple hair and a pipe in her mouth who then when on to Venus and never saw me again because she was (or became) one of those nine stars. I even sadly missed her when she left. So weird!
