when I dreamed I could fly when I put my hands down my side but out flat palms down. Also I could fallow my self walking home from school.
top belief!
My friends and I were walking through the woods one day and found a place where all the trees were dead and rotting. When were able to start pushing down and breaking all the logs and branches we thought we had been turned into superheroes.
When I was a child I over heard my grandmother talking about colored people.I use to think that there were a bunch of rainbow colored people running around. The "colored" people.
I was very young and lost a toy or something and asked my mom if she'd seen it. She got that "how stupid can you be?" look and said, "Retrace your steps! You ALWAYS have to retrace your steps."
My innocent little warped brain somehow interpreted that as, you have a spool of invisible string that unravels wherever you walk, and by going back the way you came in you roll it back up on the spool. I consciously did that for so long it was well into high school before I realized I was still doing it unconsciously.
top belief!
My brother had me convinced that he posessed X-RAY VISION until I was nine years old. He proved this by telling me what was inside solid objects; for instance, a pink toy pig was "pink all the way through." Irrefutable.
I had a recurring dream as a child that if i lifted my legs from the ground, into the lotus position (I had no idea what that was, then), and pushed my hands toward the ground, i would be able to float in the air. I was so convinced of this that one day at school, i spent a whole recess trying to do it.

One time when I was little I was walking with my mum in nearby woods, when we came to the edge of a very steep hill. Of course, I set of with glee to run down it and my mum said "Be careful! Don't run too fast or you won't be able to stop" (presumably meaning I was go careering into a tree or something). Unfortunately though, I thought that when people ran, if they reached a certain 'key' speed, then they would be doomed to run everywhere for the rest of their lives.
When I was six years old I had a dream in which I flew from one end of the garden to the other. Afterwards I was convinced that I could fly. Fortunately I only told a few people about it.
When I was little, I had flying dreams so real I was sure I could fly.Getting started was always tricky and I had to use special breathing techniques to get off the ground (never in a Superman position but always upright like airborn doggy paddle).I used to tell my friends I could fly. I still have these dreams and still tell my friends the same story :-)
My dad took a tennis ball, told me to look in the air, and pretended to throw it, but kept it in his hand. I thought he threw really hard and fast so I couldn't see the ball go into outer space.
I used to believe I could fly when I was about four, until I fell down the stairs.
I used to be sure I could fly, and even experienced it a couple of times. In public it was a kind of glide with my feet stationary a couple of inches above the floor.
In private I'm sure it was as someone else mentioned more like swimming. In fact I'm pretty sure I had to hold my breath to do it.

Every birthday, from the age of 4 until I was 8, when I blew out the candles on my birthday cake I would wish that I was "bionic". The next morning, when I woke up, I would be really excited about my new bionic powers and rush outside to test them by lifting the (suitably heavy) family car... It turns out that I hadn't become bionic after all.
At school there used to be this stuff which was like blu-tack but pink and they came in little square 'tablets'; I think they were called 'Pritt Buddies' and you used them for putting up posters etc. However, my mates brother told us that they were strength pills. To demonstrate he threw a stone 'as far as he could'. Then he chewed a 'strength pill' and... wow! that went MUCH FURTHER. We started chewing pritt buddy and throwing stones, balls etc all over the place until one of the teachers caught us and sent us to the headmistress...
I thought I could fly. No - really.
I remember flying round the sitting room while my mum was ironing it was like swimming through the air and it was probably a dream.
