Oh yeah, i ALSO used to believe (again, from watching too much Sabrina, I dream of Jeannie etc) that if i pointed my finger and just said the right words I could do spells - unfortunately I never could those right few words!
When i was young i use to think that my mum and dad had some sort of special brain power, and even when i was away from them they were able to see everything i did, here everything i'd say, and even hear everything i thought!
My friend Danny and I believed that by wishing on those little Troll toys, we could make ourselves able to fly. We "practiced flying" by jumping from the slide at a nearby park into the sand. Once I landed on my face! And I never did fly.
When I was a kid, I thought my mother's pinky (finger) had special powers, because every time I had done something I wasn't supposed to, my mother said she knew about it. And when I asked her how, she told me it was her pinky who'd told her.
I thing I had a really high fever. But, when I was a kid, I for some reason thought that Michael Jackson had the ability to start and stop time by touching his thumb to his forefinger. It was weird. Too much Small Wonder, I think.
I used to believe that if I stood at the top of the stairs, closed my eyes and yawned, I flew down them
when I was little I used to believe that if you pressed a bruise, then it would play a song, so I would press my bruises and sing because it made me sing when pressed
When my sister was about 8, I convinced that she was invisible. I had her going for about ten minutes, and all it took was saying "Where'd you go?! I can't see you?!" She got all up in my face and was making goofy faces at me, thinking that she was safe because, logically, I couldn't see her.
A few friends and I were under the impression that we could make the wind blow, whenever we wanted. There was a wooded area with a dirt hill.. and if we sat on the hill and thought real hard about wind blowing, it would blow. Hmm.. the fact that it was Autumn wasn't considered.
I was absolutely convinced that when I held my hand in front of only one eye and left both eyes open, I acquired x-ray vision and could see through my own hand.
I vividly remember flying around the light in the living room with all my family as though it was yesterday and also flying outside (obviously I now realise this was a dream!). I asked mum once if we could please fly for a bit because we hadn't done it for ages and was that because it's a secret that we can fly?
When little like 6 or 7 I though that my dad could turn the t.v. on with his mind while when he had his hand with the remote in it on the other side of the chair the whole time! I never though to look there until I was about 9 years old!
I used to believe I was a superhero and my mom once ask if i could stop
a speeding bullet, and i said yes...
but only once.
I used to believe that when you jumped the only reason you got in the air was because you kicked the whole world below you and every time you jumped the world would get lower.
i didn't beleive this, but a kid my sister knew thought if he screamed in a really high voice, he ran faster.
When i was a little kid i used to believe that if i didnt look down that i could walk across air like in the cartoons. One day i tried this and fell after walking off of a big tunnel on a playground by my house.
i used to be convinced, until like three years ago, that someone could "make themselves heavier" if they didnt want to be picked up, by just holding really still and clenching. i dont know why.
whenever i tried to pick my dad up, who was almost 180 pounds, i would always say "dad stop making yourself heavy!!!".
i used to have vivid dreams of being a bat and being able to fly. i thought that if i could just wake up before i was totally awake (and thus human) i would be able to "remember" how to fly. For quite a while I would wake up early in the morning and jump down a very steep flight of stairs. My parents never knew what was going on because i was only 3 and couldn't explain.
I used to believe that if i pushed against my eyeball in a certain way, i'd be able to see "white" ghosts.
I did this for a while before i realised that oddly enough, the "ghosts" would move in the direction i was looking whenever i turned my head.
i truly believed that I will never die even if I fall from a great height. Coz I knew a secret. When you are few feets away from the ground, you should again jump up in the air. The net effect on landing will be like you have just jumped few feets.
Anyways, I still somehow believe in this. Sounds logical right? :-)
