I used to believe that many people had the ability to read minds. Whenever i thought about something innapropriate and a person seemed to eye me from the corner of his/her eye, i would think he/she heard my thoughts and thought i was wierd or something. I also thought a girl in my class had the ability to read minds. I had a crush on her, and whenever i thought about her, she seemed to peek at me when she was reading. When we became bf-gf, i finally got over that mind reading thing.

When I was in elementary school, I believed I was a witch and that I could change into other animals, but I only did it at night after I went to sleep. I had an imaginary pet tiger named Jasmine. She was teal. I believed this until nearly fourth grade.

When I was six years old I had a dream in which I flew from one end of the garden to the other. Afterwards I was convinced that I could fly. Fortunately I only told a few people about it.

When I was six, I believed if I ate ice cream slowly I would have powers. I mean I would take a bite of chocolate and I would have powers...then I would taste the vanilla and all the magic went away...

Growing up the youngest of four i needed all the good luck i could get and tried wishing on stars all the time. When that didn't work i decided i needed to find something else to wish on and when having breakfast one day i found one.
I decided that if you were the first person to open a jar of spread or butter and the first to use it that was good luck and you got to make a wish. Once i had decided this every chance i got i made sure i was the first to do this to make a wish.

Didn't help though..... i kept getting in trouble for opening new jars when then old ones weren't empty.

When I was small, my older brother convinced me that if I closed my eyes, I became invisible. I belived this was true until one day I showed my friend my "powers" only for her to say that she could still see me.

I used to believe that if I moved my arms quickly with feather-dusters in hand, and jumped off my couch, I'd fly. (many hours of my childhood were spent attempting exactly that)

I used to think that if I was swinging on a swing fast enough, I could jump off it and start flying.

i used to believe that when you had a dream about flying when you woke up you just had to spread your arms and jump off your bed and you could fly through the house

Someone else had a VERY similar belief.

My favourite book series of all time is Animorphs. In the first book, five kids go through an abbandonned construction site and encounter an alien called an Andalite who gives them the power to become any animal they touch.

Me and a friend thought that we could do that if we believe Animorphs was real. We tried to "Aquire" the DNA of different animals and then morph into them.

When that did'nt work, we thoguth we had to find an abbandoned constuction site and go there in the middle of the night to come in contact with the "Andalite".

Also, in the book series, there were evil aliens called yeerks that took over people's bodies. Every time someone acter weird, we thought they were being controlled by yeerks.

One more thing, we were afraid to squash bugs, because we thought they were animorphs.

I used to think that if I took a bath towel and held the opposite ends in each of my hands and jumped off a chair while flapping REALLY hard, I could fly.

I never flew, and I assumed it was because I wasn't flapping hard enough =D

After I heard about dog whistles, I tried to see how high I could make my voice go. To my surprise, I could go up to a certain pitch and suddenly I couldn't go any higher- I thought I could make sound that was too high for a human to hear. I wen't around bragging about not needing dog whistles, and I didn't stop until I realized how stupid I must seem, based on peoples reactions.

I used to believe that adults could read minds, and that it would be kept a secret from me until I was "of age" and the ability developed in me too. So I was really careful not to think about secret stuff when my parents were around!

Hmmm. The same 'used to fly' belief, except- logically (for a seven year old) I could only do it with wings. So I taped paper wings to my arms and practiced by jumping off climbing frames. Except I swear I managed it once- I went too far for it to just me a jump, and landed too light...

when i was younger, i decided that it could actually be possible to fly. myself and a friend tied planks of wood to our arms and jumped off some rocks onto a beach. to this day i still claim that i "flew" further than i would have without the wood.... but it hurt considerably more with it.

When I was a kid, I used to believe that I could fly. I'd be in my grandmother's living room and jump off of her chair and do the "doggy paddle". Another time, my friends and I were running around the playground flapping our arms, and out came this strong wind and "lifted" us off the ground.

as a child i had 'speedy boots' these were imaginary shoes which i wore that made me go much faster like sonic the hedgehogs shoes... unfortunatley mine needed imaginary fuel which i would stop in any place to fill up on, like the middle of the supermarket, road or classes!

When i was about 6 or 7, when i had a book with pictures of people in it i would draw on their faces like spots and scars etc with a red or any other colour pen, i believed that these markings would appear on their face wherever they were in the world. I have no idea why i ever thought this.

When younger, while watching a thriller; in which a cop happened to remark:that the intended victim(a blindman)had an unfair advantage - he could see in the dark.Hence I took it as granted that all blind people could see in the dark...
