My friend and I used to believe that we could gain special powers by pressing our bellybuttons and wishing.
When I was very small I believed I could fly down the stairs. I tried it and it seemed like I was flying. I asked my mum about it recently and she said I just hurt myself badly. I don't believe her.
When I was 5 or 6 I used to believe I had X-ray vision becasuse I could see through my hand. It turns out I was just crossing my eyes and I LOOKED like I could see through it, I was really dissapointed.
I used to think I could get powers by using the Weegee board. Me and my cousins once kept on asking a spirit for some, and we got them. I was about to leave my cousins house but didn't want to. So we all three concentrated and drained oil and gas out of my mom's car. Believe it or not, it appeared she was astonishingly OUT OF OIL! So she borrowed my grandma's car. I remember this as if it were just yesterday.
My friend had a sloped up drive way that we waited for the bus at, and i thought that if i ran up it as fast as i could, and jumped at the top, i could fly.
I used to believe I could control the wind. When I was hot, I would blow air out of my mouth really hard and wait a second or two and then without fail a gust of wind would come and cool me off. This is why I used to believe I could control the wind.
when i was 8 years old my brothers told me "if i try hard enough i could do anything" so... we were at my grandmothers house where i decided i could fly. i got up on her couch and jump up then smack! on the ground. i was rather confused, but ok.
Once I had this dream I dug some index cards out of the garbage, then I could wish for something like a plane ticket to Japan, a notebook computer, or candy. So after I had the dream, I found a box and started wishing for stuff. Unfortunatly my wishes didn't come out! :(
you know when you look at a bright light too long you see colored dots infront of your eyes well i used to believe that i was the only one who could do this and that i was magic because i knew how to do it
I used to believe (from watching films, I guess) that if you wanted to be good at martial arts all you had to do was make the sounds like 'Hai!' when you fought someone. My cousin set me straight when we were playfighting finally, but no-one (not even him) ever knew that that was why I was doing it.
When I was in highscool I had almost the entire school beleiving I could control events. One of my friends always feared that he was going to fail an upcoming test and would ask me to postpone the test. I told him that in order for the test to be postponed he would need to eat a slice of pizza by stuffing it into his mouth without biting it. Amazingly enough the test was postponed and I gained the nick name "Kapn Kaos". To this day I use this nick name in mmo games and forums as my screen name.
I used to think that capes made people fly.
I use to have a fascination with being able to fly. One evening when I was about 10, I was convinced I actually took flight and flew off the ground at least 1 foot. I bragged about it later to my family.
Another time years later, I asked my dad what would he do if, I started flying up into the sky? He said he would have to shoot me down. I thought I would die laughing.
When I was little I used to believe that if I would just run as fast as I could and then jump...that I'd be able to fly. I remember running around the field in Kindergarten telling all the other kids about it so we were all running around really fast and then jumping up. No telling what our teachers thought we were doing!
...that I had seen an alien ship one night while my parents were driving us home one night, and that it had followed us for awhile, and that it had transfered to me the ability to leave my body behind, in the bed while I slept, and hover above the earth, traveling back over places I had seen from the ground, except that I was then able to look down on them from above. I also used to believe, that while I was out traveling, that I could see things that I had not seen in the past, and a few glimpses of things that I would soon see. Most of the time, it would require that I travelled to these places / times repeatedly, until I could remember them after I woke up.
This ended, for the most part, upon a return trip one night, when I awoke at the bottom of the stairs, laying on the floor of the living room of my house, (my bedroom was upstairs, the living room was downstairs.) Thinking that I was on my way back out for another flyby of the place that I frequently went to, I had apparently returned to my body, and instead of levitating down the staircase, I had fallen down, and landed on my face, causing my bottom incisors to cut through my bottom lip.
I eventually learned to better control and govern what I dream about, unfortunately, and it's been a very long time since I have visited the future.
I belived carrots made you see in the dark
I used to believe that you can fly if you wear a cape because all the super heros that can fly wear them. So I often put on a blanket and jump off from a table. I'm still glad I didn't try the balcony.
When I was younger my mum told me I was 'double-jointed' like a lot of my family, I took this as being some sort of special power where I could bend my fingers or elbows or knees the other way, I always tried really hard and couldn't do it so I thought my mum was a liar!
I used to think that parents could always know what their kids were thinking...telepathy or something...so I would always try and censor my thoughts around my parents. Even if they weren't around, I thought they might still know what I was thinking, and felt guilty if I caught myself thinking things I shouldn't.
when i was 4 i believed i could breathe under water, one day i decided to try it and woke up in the hospital!
