when I was a little girl, I used to lie in the grass and watch the blue sky. Then one day, a friend of mine came and said to me that if I stared at the sky for too long, my eyes would pop out and I would be blind for ever. I didn't look at the sky for years.

Until I was approximately a junior in high school I thought that if you pulled the top part of your eye lid up and the bottom part of your eye lid down and then looked down at the floor your eye would fall out.

When I was little, about 5 or 6, I used to believe that if I shut my eyes no one could see me, or anything I did while my eyes were shut. So I'd break something and then shut my eyes thinking my mom couldn't see me and what I had just done. She would know it was me and not my sister because I would just stand there with my eyes shut, but I was so cute she never got mad at me and I never got punished. Sometimes I still like to pretend that when my eyes are shut I am invisible to all.

I used to believe that to get rid of the lost eyelashes that got caught just on the surface of the eyeball would escape through the eye duct and finally out the nostrils :-)

Actually, can anyone disprove it?

I used to believe that all blind people wore sunglasses because they had no eyes at all, which is why they were blind

THE WATER
I was 7 and in summer the whole family used to spend the day at the village pools. I was really afraid of deep water, so I always swam in the small pool, where the water came up to my knee. One day I wanted to open my eyes underwater while snorkelling, because my brothers and cousins did it. But when I tried I thought that the water would hurt my eyes and could not separate the eyelids.

When I was 8, I used to believe that Specsavers (an optitions in the UK) had a glasses factory under their shop where they made glasses and they would put the glasses in a tube so the people working there could collect the glasses.

When I was little I'd see my little brothers' eyes moving, and I somehow concluded that mine coudn't do that. My mother had me look at a fixed object while I turned my head, and lo! they moved. But I was disappointed that they didn't zip back and forth like everyone else's.

I used to think that if you flipped your eyelids inside out they would get stuck. I also used to think that rolling your eyes would cause them to get stuck in the back of your head.

My son was convinced for some time that people with the "crazy eyes" (the ones who wore contacts that were all white or had Xs on them, etc.)were actually removing their eyes and putting new ones in. He asked me several times how old he had to be before I would let him change his eyes!

When I was about 5 years old, I used to believe that if I blinked, I would miss what was happening. So if I had come to an important part in a television show, I would hold my eyelids open until the part was over.

For years I thought that my eyes were hazel instead of blue like the rest of my family because I did not eat enough spinach one night at my grandmother's house.

I used to believe the girl down the block could take her eyes out and put them back in. I could have sworn that's what she told me but later on she denied it.

My dad used to tell me that my eyes were green because I was full of crap. I didn't get the joke for a long time, but when I did, I looked at him and said, "So that's why you have brown eyes?"

I used to think an eyeball, if cut in half lengthwise, would look like a hard boiled egg. I couldn't eat one of them until I was much much older
