i used to believe that snakes could come out of your butt if you didnt bathe for awhile
i used to believe that our buttocks are hollow and that all our internal organs i.e are stomach, liver, kidneys, lungs etc are placed there...now as a biology postgraduate i know better!!
we used to believe that when we sneezed a tiny bit of our brain fell out! and we got dumber. so we used to try not to sneeze and put our fingers up our nose to prevent sneezing! those were the days!!

When I heard the term "broken heart", I thought the heart was literaly brocken or cracked. I thought if I fell out of a tree, I might break my heart. (like break my arm or leg). A conversation could go like this: "He fell out of a second-story window and broke his heart."
When I was very young, the nuns at school told us that it was a sin to touch yourself except when you were bathing. I had no idea what they meant, and for a time I tried to keep my hands away from the rest of me.
My grandmother has dentures and when I was little I saw her take them out once and thought that everyone could do that, so I tried to take my teeth out.
As a child into teenager years, I thought that those unsightly bulging veins on legs were called "very close veins" aka vericose.

I used to believe that your ribs were actually shelves that stored the food you ate. not only that, but different shelves stored different types of food. so it was possible for the dinner shelves to be full but the dessert shelves could be empty. also, the dessert shelves emptied themselves faster than the other shelves so you could have more room for dessert.
When I was younger, I thought the veins on my wrists were from marker and that some random person came up to me and drew my veins on with purple and turquoise marker. I figured the reason the marker never came off when I bathed was the marker was permanent.
I couldn't discern the difference between the words "shoulder" and "soldier" which led to a bit of confusion at times. Like when somebody mentioned that their "soldier" hurt.
When I was three, my father told me that if I pushed the cuticles back too far, my fingernails would fall out.
I still kind of believe it.

When I was young, I thought that only women's bosoms could have erection of the nipples (I knew it happened, I once walked in on my mom dressing). One day I got out of the tub and while my mom was drying me I noticed my nipples. I was horrified and I thought I was a Hermaphrodite. But I used the term "Two-Gendered! AAAAAH!" then my mom explained.
I used to believe that the vein that is under your tongue was called a "clucker" which is what made the noise when you "cluck" your tongue, and since chickens can make that sound, I thought since they were smaller the red gullet was their clucker
I used to belive that when your foot "falls asleep" it was salt running over your foot. When my mom told me my foot fell asleep i started shaking it to wake it up. When my brother was around i would say "shhhhhhhh my foot is sleeping".
haha one time when i was like 7-9, my sister told me if i ever tried to shave my legs at my age then blood would sqirt EVERYWHERE and id almost die. she said i could only shave my legs until i got older so that wouldnt happen
I used to belive that ballet dancers had flat toes, so when they put on their shoes they would fit right.
Due to a lack of respect for my mother when I was much younger, my grandmother told me, that when I stick out my tongue to my mother at exactly 12.00 pm/am, I would freeze forever with that face (while my tongue is out)..I was so scared, I have never done it again..
