When my head was on my pillow at night and in the morning, I used to hear a steady, constant, heavy pounding. I was always afraid to go to sleep at night or get out of bed in the morning because I had believed it was an evil giant/monster/dinosaur stomping it's way towards our house to kill us all, until my dad finally told me it was just my heart beating.

I have toes like my daddy's. Our index and middle toes are stuck together. Almost webbed in a way. My dad told me one day that they stuck together because I'd eaten to much candy as a baby. I always told older people that and now I understand why they always giggled.

I used to have this strange belief that your heart, while beating, also swung freely on a rope in your chest cavity, like a pendulum in a grandfather clock. I thought that if you were ever stabbed in the chest, the knife would stop the swinging, and you would die...I didn't ever stop to think about the blood-loss.

When I was about 5 I always asked my dad how he got such a big nose. He said "when I was little I put lit firecrackers up my nose and they made my nose big," liar.

We had the Childcraft series of kiddie encyclopedias - volume 5, I believe, was all about the human body. There was a picture of a boy & girl showing their intestines, stomach, etc - but for some reason, the boy figure, turned slightly, only had a few loops of intestine drawn, I guess just to represent the space normally taken up by all the intestines. The girl, shown head-on, had the typical full set of intestines drawn. I believed that girls had more "guts" than boys and that's why most women had bigger stomachs and hips than men.

I was told by another kid at my preschool that if I touched a certain plant, your fingers would shrink. Well, I touched it, and then I realized that my pointer and my ring finger were not the same length. I still think about that when I look at my hands!

When my son was about 3 he came into the house excited to show me the penises that were growing in the yard. It happened to be mushrooms and I must admit there was a similarity!

Once, when i was little, i was scared of the tendons in your arm because you can sometimes see them move. I asked my brother what they were called and he must have said tendons but i heard testicles. In school, we were doing a project to see if we would want to be a veterinarian. i said no, because i dont like testicles. my family never let me live that one down.

I remember that I used to think that people could survive without heads, as I have seen people without an arm or a leg, i thought It would be the same to amputae the head, as to amputate an arm or leg....I dont think I told anyone then...But then I went to school and cleared things out...

I used to think there was an ant inside of my brain that controlled everything I did. Whenever I at Cheerios, I thought they were going to the ant.

I also thought that my heart pounding in my ears meant that there was a lion prowling around, trying to eat the ant in my brain.
