When I was three, my father told me that if I pushed the cuticles back too far, my fingernails would fall out.
I still kind of believe it.

When I was a kid, my mom told me she carved my teeth out of the wood of the big pine tree in the front yard, just like George Washington's teeth (as if they were wooden, which I'm not certain of but I seriously doubt). For years, I thought my teeth were made of wood.

My brother used to have a bright red birthmark on his back but as he got older it began to fade a bit. I was convinced that they washed off over time and mine had been washed off earlier since I was older. I then proceeded to go at his back with a scrub brush every time he had a bath.

When I was little my Aunt Judy told me if I drank a lot of milk, it would make my boobs grow. She was wrong.

I had a babysitter in grade school who I asked why viens my are blue if my blood is red. She told me this was simply because y mblood was blue in my body but became red the instant it was mixed with oxygen. This made plenty of sense because bruises, which I classified as cuts under my skin, were blue too.

I used to believe that you had to brush your teeth to get the food particles out because if you didn't, when you slept, little bugs would get in your mouth to eat the food and in the process would eat your teeth causing cavities.

when i was 3 or 4, i was told to shake-hand with my sis (elder) after a fight & was told to do so with my right hand. i noticed my sis shaking with her left hand (from my view) and thought all the time that women have right hand to their left & vice-versa.

sometimes, i felt my sis is a genius because she used to give directions to the cab-fellow from the man's point-of-view.

I didn't know about blood vessels until I was about 6. I thought that the human body was a blood sack with organs and bones.

I used to imagine that if someone's arm or leg was cut off it would look like baloney or salami inside. No bone down the middle, no muscle structure, no bleeding -- just solid homogeneous meat.

I still liked eating baloney, as I knew it didn't come from people! Oddly enough, I can't remember imagining that other animals were made out of baloney inside. We lived on a lake and caught and ate fish all the time, and I would help out in the kitchen when my mother was roasting a chicken, so I did know that there were bones and muscles and things inside of animals.

(When someone finally explained to me that hot dogs and baloney were usually made of the bits of meat that nobody wanted, like guts, I didn't care -- I already liked eating chicken hearts.)

Somehow i had become of the belief that the brain was as affectionate an organ as the heart, and therefore i would make up and sing love songs about "how my brain loves you"
It was odd however, that by age 6 i still didn't understand the concept of love, but i did understand love songs.

I used to think you only had a limited supply of blood and it would freak me out when people told me they would donate blood. When someone would donate over and over again I would think that they were going to die soon because they were going to run out. I thought this because I would watch the news and hear of people dying of blood loss. So in my head 1 + 1 = 1.9.

When I was five, I had a nightmare where a man came into my room and told me that if I wiggled my fingers too much that I wouldn't be able to control them. I was afraid to wiggle my fingers for a few days afterwards.

When I was a young child, my mother told me Jesus Christ lived inside my heart. So I always took great care with my body. When I fell down, or was pushed, or hit, I always worried if Jesus who lived in my heart was ok too. I felt I had to look after Him carefully, since He lived in my heart, and I tried not to do any risky stunts, like jumping off swings, because I might hurt Jesus in the process.

When I was three years old my brother was pulling the reel type lawnmower (no motor) and I started to push on the roller and my hand slipped and I cut off part of my left index finger. The Dr. fixed it and when I asked if it would grow back he told me it would. I believed it would until I started school.

That if you pulled a funny face and the wind changed, you would stop like that. Strange child that I was, I spent many hours trying. Sadly it worked!

When I was six my mom told me that I am going to have to get my horns surgically removed before I 12 or they would grow into full antlers. I cried so hard she told me the truth that same day.

When we were little I told my little sister that her butt was black. This made her cry and she would tell me that she didn't believe me. I would "prove" it by asking her if it wasn't true that her poop was dark. Since she couldn't really get a good look at her little behind (of course *I* wouldn't have suggested a mirror!) I almost succeeded in making her believe it.
