When I was about 7 or so I had a nervous habit of chewing on my hair. My mom told me that if I did that I would start growing hair in my stomach and would eventually choke to death. That sure stopped me.
When i was little i thought my grandpa had a bald spot because he never brushed his hair, being afraid that my hair would fall out i always brushed my hair at least 5 times a day.
My brother thought that the hair above your eyes were your eyeBROWNS. Our whole family has brown hair; he'd never seen anything different.
I couldn't have been older than six when I overheard my mother debating at the hair salon whether to have them give my little sister bangs. I imagined this entailed banging her forehead until great grey lumps emerged from it. Of course I was against the idea.

When I was around 5 or 6, I really hated washing my hair. I always found ways to put it off. My mom would always say, "If you don't wash your hair now, when you go to sleep, I'm going to cut it all off!" and I would cry because I loved my long hair. I also knew she wouldn't do that, so she tried a different method saying, "If you always wash your hair, it will grow longer much more quickly." That got me.
I used to think that if you used shampoo/conditioner to wash anywhere else in your body besides your hair, you would grow hair in that area.
My little brother used to believe that after getting a hair cut you shouldn't take a shower/bath right away because it would make his hair grow faster
i used to believe that cowlicks were like salt licks, only for domesticated animals.

I once asked a balding family friend of ours how he lost his hair. He told me that he brushed his hair back too much until it fell out. I was terrified of brushing my hair for some time after that.
