I knew that both men and women grew hair in their armpits. I thought both sexes shaved. It's just that it was a rule that men's armpit hairs grow that much faster.

As a small child i had always had bangs all my life. Somehow i thougt that everyone in the world had bangs like me, and eveyone who didnt just parted them in the middle for some reason. somehow i just couldnt grasp the fact that people cold grow them out...I dont know why i thought this, but it continued for a long time, till i was about 10.

My mom used to tell me when I was in preschool that if you chewed your hair that it would turn into worms. So I stopped doing it, and every time I would see other kids doing it, I would laugh to myself and think...wow that's gonna be gross.

When my mother would find a tangle while brushing my hair, she would exclaim, "You have a rat in your hair!" She would then grab a nearby tissue, act as if she was wrapping the "rat" up inside it, then stuff it between the cushions of the couch. When I asked her if the rats in the couch would ever escape, she assured me that our cat would tend to them later.

when I was little I used to see people with long, flowy, shiny hair and wanted mine like theirs. So I mixed my moms hair products together to attempt to make a magical pretty hair potion, and put it all over my hair. I actaully thought it worked for a while there untill I noticed it was actually dulling and makind my hair a sticky mess. My mother found out I was wasting her hair products and I got in trouble and stopped the potion makeing. I can't belive I used to Belive in magical hair concoctions.

I used to belive that having short hair would make you smaller. I still have long hair, but now I know that short hair doesn't make you smaller.

I used to believe that a 'skinhead' was not a racist, but somebody with a shaved head (it made perfect sense at the time).

I used to believe that little girl's pony tails were crooked because their parents were terrible at fixing hair. Now that I have a daughter, I realize it is because she WON'T SIT STILL!

I was born with white/blond hair, and I mean white!!! When I was little my mother thought there was dirt on my scalp b/c my roots looked dark, she would scrub & scrub until finally she realized that my hair was getting darker! So, for many years I would cower away when someone complemented me on my hair 'cause I thought it was dirty!!!!
