I used to believe that if you stepped on someone's grave they would get very mad at you and wouldn't forgive me. So when we would visit my Dad's grave I would tiptoe around everyone else so that they wouldn't get mad and be mean to my dad. To this day I still apologize to the dead when i walk around graves.

When I was little I used to believe that a suicide was when someone died by falling into a sewer. For a long time I remember looking through the holes in the mancovers to make sure there were no dead bodies.

I used to believe that in movies, when people died...they really died. i thought that they would get paid a large amount of money, and then say, 5 years later they would do the movie and die.

When I was little, one time I was pulling the hairs on my brother's legs. He made me promise to stop, cross my heart and hope to die. So I did. Then I did it again. He said that since I crossed my heart and hoped to die and thenbroke the promise, I would die in my sleep that night!

I was so frightened that I would not go to bed that night. I cried so much and got so upset that my mother called the doctor. He said nothing was wrong with me.

Imagine my great relief when I woke up the next morning, and discovered that I was still alive!

When I was in 1st grade I had to stay after and wash the chalkboard. And as I was washing it I had a nickle in my mouth. Well I reached up to clean the high part of the board and swallowed the nickle and for the longest time I thought I was going to die.

When I was about 5, I as writing with a pencil and poked myself in the leg on accident. Well, I had heard about lead poisoning and knew lead was what was in pencils, so I thought I had lead poisoning and was about to die. So I started crying and kissed all my stuffed animals goodbye and reflected on my terribly short life.

When I was a child I was taught by my siblings not to breath when passing a graveyard. "It's not polite to breath when others can't."

My dad died when I was 7 and was cremated. I didnt go to the funeral, but found out that cremated meant burnt, I thought they built a big bonfire and flung the body on. The worse thing, it wasnt until I was about 18 that I found out that it didnt happen like that !!

one time, when i was little, my mom told me to go wake up grandma. well, i go into my grandma's room, and her arms were folded across her chest, like you see dead people in movies. i was so scared, i couldn't speak. after about 5 minutes i was finally able to tell my mom grandma had passed. she laughed at me and woke her up. she said 'do you think people really die like that?' i was still too scared to answer

When I was little, I think 4, I had a dream about a graveyard. I went to my mom to ask what those things were (I didn't know they were headstones then), and she said something about lying down and thinking about getting a house and a dog. At the time I thought that that's what you did at those things, I don't know why.
