hought "R.I.P" on a gravestone ment that peopkle wanted the body ripped up, so no goatst would come to haunt them.
When i was little, i used to think that after they buried the deceased, Jesus would visit them in their casket and the deceased had to win a fight with Jesus or else they wouldn't got to heaven. If they lost, they have to stay in their casket forever and someone would fill the casket with toothpaste. i don't know why, but i still imagine the fights and think of toothpaste whenever i go to the cemetery...
I used to believe that when you died, your shoulder-blades split open and wings would ccome out, then you would fly up to heaven.
I used to think that it would take forever to float up to Heaven because it was way up in the sky. I always pictured people floating up in space, and finally reaching the top.
When i was 4 or 5 i remember telling my mother that she was by far my most favorite mother that i'd ever had. She laughed and told me she was the only mother that i had. I laughed at her, placeing a hand on her cheek, i remember thinking i was much smarter then her. No, i mean you my favorite of all the mothers i EVER had mom, from all my lives. i had been raised christan, to this day i don't know what i was thinking .
When my grandad died many years ago there was a mournig held in my nan's hourse. From all around relations and friends gathered. My youngest brother about 2 went up to a elderly man and asked "how old are you?" the man replied "74" then my brother said "you should be dead!!!"
My dad passed away when I was 2 and my mom told me that him and Jesus were both in my heart. I used to believe when I ate my food that they would eat it after me and that's how they ate.
My dad was in the military, and we usually lived on an army base. Often, my family would drive off base and to return we were required to present our IDs. I used to think that if we didn't have them, the soldiers would immediately shoot all of us without thinking twice. It always bothered me that the soldiers were heartless enough to gun down innocent drivers and even children who either forgot their CDs or took a wrong turn.
I had this classmate who was my friend during class but I was really scared of at recess because he'd claim that he wanted to eat me and he'd hiss at me, drool and say these phrases like "Lunch time", "No survivors" and "Yummy food" in an evil voice.
Once, he did it in class, but not generally and that's why I was usually OK with him in class.
Some other kids were afraid of him for the same reason, but others laughed at me for being afraid.
My parents told me he wasn't serious but I thought I couldn't be too careful.
Another classmate of mine liked to pretend he was dying and at first I believed him but eventually I didn't.
When I was seven years old my grandma died. My father and my grandpa was with her when she died. When dad came home and told me garandma was dead, I got pissed off at him because he hadn't taken me to se her die, because I thought God would stretch his hand down and she would climb onto it and God would take her to heaven.......
Afterwards I used to dream that I spoke with her, and I thought it was for real.
When I was a child I thought all the people that died turned into manikins needless to say I was afraid of them.
I remember telling a friend that when I died and went to Heaven, I'd go visit famous people like Elvis Presley.
My mother had a friend who always chewed gum. Mom once said to me "Oh yes Mrs. O'Brien would die without her gum". I was about 6 at the time and believed Mrs. O'Brein had to chew gum to keep herself alive. I used to tell all my friends that she had a special disease and only chewinbg gum could keep her alive. I am embarassed to say how old I was before I realized my mother was only using an expression. (maybe 13)
When my granded died I thought he turned into a daffodil. He would buy me dresses in my dreams and I would search for them in the morning and be shocked that they weren't there. Sometimes I was scared of daffodils because I thought my grandad was angry that I had lost the dresses.
i used to believe that wen a sign in a shop said "all shop lifters will be prosicuted" it meant all shop lifters would be exicuted!
When I was very young (around 7 or 8), I overheard a conversation by my parents and a few of their friends. Apparently, one of the friends had just gotten back from the funeral of a distant family member.
My father then laughed, "You know, sometimes they pop right back outta the ground after you throw dirt on 'em." and even though the others shared in his laughter, I was horrified.
I had heard the story of the creation at Sunday School and how God took a rib from Adam to create Eve. My Grandad died soon after and by coincidence a new baby was born in the family about the same time, so I was convinced that God had been taking ribs out of Grandad and he died when he ran out of ribs!
During my childhood days,I think that when people became dead ,there next birth will depend on the following
"When you are rich this time then the next time you will born as a poor person and vice versa"
and i dont know what will happen to the people like me , since I born in moddle class family
My sister used to think that because I was 15 months older than her, I would die 15 months before her!
I have no idea how I came up with this, but as a for and five year old, I thought that when you died, your eyes didn't close all the way. I mean, they were 90% closed, but they were still a tiny bit open. I also remember thinking that death was less total than fainting, during which your wyes close all the way.
