i used to watch the kind of cartoons when people died, a stream of light would come from the sky and carry there spirits up to heaven. so everyday when my mom was driving me from church, i would look out the window and see shafts of light coming through the clouds. then i would be very sad because i thought people were dying.
When I was about 6-7, I believed that when someone died, they'd come back as the total opposite of what they were. For example: If a black man died, he'd be reborn as a white woman.
My grandfather (my mom's dad) died when she was 15 years old. When I turned 15 I was convinced my dad was going to doe because I was 15 too.
I used to believe that my old grandmother had a long life and was still alive because she had also forgotten to die due to forgetfulness brought about by old age. This was long ago before I knew the term, "Alzheimer's Disease"
When I was 5 years old my grandmother died and when I saw her in the casket with the bottom part closed, I thought that the funeral home cut off the bottom part of their legs so they couldn't walk after they died. My dad told me that even after my grandmother was gone, she could still see me so I had nightmares that she was standing by my bed watching me sleep.
This on we must put half the blame on Stephen King. My mom was watching Carrie and at the end, when Carrie's hand pops out of the grave, my mom looked at me and said "that is what happens when you step on a grave." I still walk carefully in a grave yard.
When I was a child and first heard about murder, I thought why don't the police just get a doctor's light and look at the back of the dead person's eyes? I was sure the face of the murderer would be recorded there, much like film being developed. Sure could solve a lot of crimes!
I used to really believe that if I put a note inside a helium ballon for God/my uncle who died before I was born, then it really would reach them. I spent ages trying to figure out what I should say to them but at the end I couldn't get my hands on a helium balloon and I was too shy to tell anyone.
Whenever we drove or walked by a graveyard i noticed that everybody made the sign of the cross. up to the age of eight i thought they were saying hello to all the dead people!
I used to believe that when you died, people will throw you in the garbage and people will run away, I used to believe that until my gramma died.
i used to think people died of old age becuse they rotted
alive
When I was 4 or so I believed if you touched a dead person you'd die too.
When I was child I used to believe that people who die become ghosts and could see you
When my pappy died when I was 4, we didn't have the proper burial for him. The last time I saw him, he was lying on a bed covered from the chest down. I remember the nurse picking me up to let me kiss him on the cheek and then I told him that I loved him, and I said nite nite to him, and I thought he fell asleep. A few years later, I asked my Mom when Pappy was going to wake up. Then I proceeded to tell her that I should wake him up, because my dollies missed using his cane for a balance beam.
I used to believe that you lived forever unless you got sick or were killed. It was quite a shock when I realized that you died anyway. That's when I first heard about a soul, and was told that wouldn't die. But I didn't buy the soul thing until much, much later.
I used to believe that every one that
passed away would come and visit me.
No matter if I knew them or not!
I used to believe that the process of death involved the persons body getting smaller and smaller until it wasn't there anymore.
i was told that if you got stabbed with a pencil (by yourself or others) you would get lead poisoning.
when i was younger i used to believe that when someone died all of the dead people hung about on street corners and kill ya so they could have some company
i used to believe that souldiers came out of tombstones in cemetries when something bad was happening.I dont why i started believing this or why i stopped believning it.
