I belived that you could died if you laid your hair in the wrong way. If you one day had your fringe in the wrong direction you would die at night! My older friends were really good at keeping me beliv in this...

When I was small, I read the goosebumps book with the camera that would show your fate in it. I became very scared and the next time we took family pictures... My face went pale and eyes dilated before they took the picture. I freaked out about it and it took us half an hour to get another picture.

As a small child I always confused someone being unconcious with someone being dead.

My grandma died when I was young. I used to believe that on days when the clouds were really puffly and the skies really blue, if I looked hard enough, I could see my Grandma watching me. All the angles could peek over the puffy clouds and see everyone on earth.

When I was in grade 4, the boys across the table told me that the people in ancient horror movies, like the origional Dracula ect... they actually had too be killed because they didnt have special effects, so if you wanted too be in a movie like that they gave your family a ton of money after you'd died. Anyway, when i was in grade 8, we had too do a progect type thing on the first movies, and i put in this information, i still dont know if it's true, i doubt it

Around the ages of 4-6 or so I thought when you died that you fell on your back and your tongue hung out of your moth.

I used to think that if you entered a grave yard, that is when you died. I found it to be perfectly logical! But my parents quickly corrected (of course, now I have a rather unnatural obsession with cemetaries).

I used to believe that when you die you come back to life in the form of a bird or some other animal. One day when I was about 8 I was throwing rocks as I liked to test my aim, and I inadvertently injured a bird on a wire. For years I thought I re-killed someone and I prayed they wouldn't come after me.
Pretty silly now considering you only die once and all dead people are still in the grave.

I thought only animals and old people could die. It was a big shock for me when someone told me everyone can die...

When I was about 5 or 6, my mom took me out trick-or-teating on halloween. A fake, cardboard gravestone was on our neighbors' yard for decoration. I immediately was scared of it because I thought R.I.P. meant that the dead got their heads ripped off and that they would come to get me because they thought it was my fault. For years, when I went to cemetaries, I would stay away from "R.I.P." gravestones.

I used to believe that when you died you went to a land of candyfloss where you could float around and not get fat ... Coincidently I used to belive that the clouds were made of candy floss ... maybe that has something to do with it?

my parents and I were driving past a cemetary one night. i noticed that there were blinking lights coming from the headstones. i asked my dad what those blinking lights were and he told me that when a ghost wakes up a light on the headstone blinks. i thought this was true for a very long time. i now know that the "blinking lights" are the reflections of the headlights on the pictures on the headstones. I think of that everytime i pass a cemetary at night and see the blinking.
