I used to believe that people were trying to poison me. I almost stopped eating and drinking entirely until my Dad threatened putting me through another surgery if I didn't start eating.

My pastor told me when I was little that if you eat mushrooms, you will grow fungus inside of you. Also if you drink coffee, your guts will turn green.

After finishing dinner, I heard my mother say green beans and onions help prevent cancer but I didn't know what "prevent" actually meant .. thus I assumed she meant these vegetables CAUSED cancer. I cried in my room for hours thinking I was surely going to die.
when i was about four years old someone told me if you eat to many green vegtables you would turn green and die.so i went downstairs and put all the green veg in the bin.
When I was a kid one of my friends moms told us kids that you could die if you ate too many Nanaimo bars (coconut/chocolate/crumb base with custard creme middle and hard chocolate top layer), while we were all oogling a plate of them. Obviously, she told us this because then we wouldn't eat them all, but it stayed in the back of my head for years and years afterwards.
When I was six I dropped an apple pip on my lap and I was really scared cos I thought a big tree would grow out of my skirt!

I apparently loved crab and shrimp when I was little (probably around age three and earlier, seeing as I don't remember it) but I then started having nightmares about lobsters and shrimp. When I was little I somehow thought that Rice Krispies were Gremlins that when you ate them jumped into your ears and ate your brain. I also believed in a fairy at the bottom of the garden called Dingo.
Sushi had a Snorlax in it that would eat me.
I used to believe mushrooms growing outside were all poisonous. Only the store-bought ones were safe to eat.
