The Mrs. Butterworth syrup bottle used to freak me out when I was little! I thought she could talk, so everytime we went past her in the grocery store, I'd back as far away as possible!
When I was in 3rd grade, we had a birdfeeder on the kitchen window. My dad joked about catching and cooking the birds, so one day my mom made Cornish hens and told my brother and I they were mourning doves. I believed her and even wrote about it in my class journal. At the parent-teacher conference, my teacher told my dad I wrote that we'd had mourning doves for dinner - my dad just said that we had - she didn't know how to respond to that!
I remembered a cartoon from when I was little that had a monter-lima bean. When I was younger I would eat sandwiches for lunch nearly every day. I would watch my dad cut them and I always wondered where the middle went. I thought that there should have been a little sliver in the middle where the cut was made.
I was convinced that cheese came from a green nice smelling plant that we call the DAUN PANDAN in Malaysia and I told as many people as I could that it truly came from the plant....till today, my kindergarten mates remind me of that very very misguided belief! .....errr I actually made them try to eat the stuff....

When I was little, my mom put some eggs in a bowl out on the table (ready to cook for dinner) And I thought the chicks were alive in the egggs, and so I took 2 eggs and hid it in a shoe box. 3 weeks later, I opened it, and nothing was there. So I dumped it. Hahahha, what a waste of eggs ;] -bw age-11

When i was a kid, i thought that beans were little potatoes.
I used to think that the holes in swiss cheese were made by tiny mice eating their way through it... and offered this explanation to my kindergarten class who ridiculed me.
When I was child i believe that the potatoes flew
When I was a child, I used to believe that lemons and oranges were the same.
While eating mince and taties, I'd sometimes come across a lump of meat where it had stuck together during cooking. I thought that if you swallowed these lumps without breaking them up, they would turn up in your scrotum as replacements!
I used to think that tinned spaghetti was actually worms and refused to eat it. Now in my mid twenties, I still can't bring myself to put it in my mouth!
