If you swallow a seed a plant will grow inside you.

when i as small my mom would tell me not to swallow grape seeds, or seeds of any kind actually, because a tree would grow in my stomach and come out of my mouth. i still have some fear that i've got a little tree in me.

I guess it may be a common one but I was scared that if I swallowed a pip from an apple, an apple tree would grow in my belly.

My parents always told me that if I swallowed an apple pip, an apple tree would then grow in my belly and consequently grow out my mouth. This of course applied to any fruit. Imagine my panic when I did accidentally swallow a pip.
