If you swallow a seed a plant will grow inside you.

when i was about 5 years old once i drank a lemon seed with lemon water in it,my cousin who was three years older than me, got notice of it and she told me that now a lemon plant will grow on my head. i got really tensed.

Bad habit - swallowing olive pits, orange seeds, etc. We were told if we swallowed these, a tree would grow in our stomachs. If we bit and swallowed our nails, a finger would grow in our stomachs. Anything we ate, that we weren't supposed to eat, would result in the growth of the original plant/tree it came from.

I used to believe that if you swallowed apple pips, then an apple tree would grow in your stomach! For some reason it didn't kill you either!!
My mum also told me that if you swallowed chewing gum it would get wrapped round your tonsils and you would choke to death!!

When i was younger, i used to think that if i ate the seeds from inside a tomato, that they would grow a tomato tree inside my stomach so i never used to eat them, my mum had to pick all the seeds out for me.

When i was younger i was told by my mum that if you ate an orange pip you would get orange trees goin out your ears. I was a only 3 and i was really scared when i was eating an orange and...yes you've guessed it...i ate the pip. I was crying my eyes out and i ran into the bathroom and washed my ears out. Then i had my mum guive me a lecture on how it needed soil and sun and water to grow.

When i was younger i used to beleive that if you swallowed apple seeds an apple tree would grow out the top of your head. So naturally i avoided swallowing them at all costs. However One day i was riding my bike while eating a plum and fell of my bike and swallow the pip that i had been chewing on to get those last little bits off. For Weeks i was terrified i was going to get a plum tree grow out my head :|

When I was little my Dad convinced me that if I swallowed a cherry seed, a tree would grow out of my ass. I remember always being extremely careful...but accidentally swallowing one one time. I ran to the basement and started crying and when my Mom followed me and asked what was wrong, I told her I didn't want to have a tree grow out of my bum and that I accidentally swallowed a pit and that I needed surgery because I didn't want to look stupid. I was like...5.

When I was about 8 years old I developed a liking to lemons. As there was a big lemon tree in out front garden, I used to climb the tree, gather about 4-5 lemons and chow down on them sprinkled with salt.
My mom was irritated to see me eat so many lemons in one go (including the seeds) and she told me that if I don't stop eating them little lemon trees would grow in my tummy. It diddn't stop me eating lemons, but I did stop eating the seeds.
I believed her story right up until I was a teenager, when I accidentally swallowed a seed. I nervously waited for a tree to grow, and when none did I told my mom what an awful fibber she was!
