When I was young, my mother used to tell me not to swallow the small stones when I ate grapes. She told me a grape-tree would grow in my stomach if I did. I used to imagine a grape-tree growing inside me with the branches growing out of my ears

I used to think that if you actually ate the seeds from an apple or orange, then a small tree would grow inside your belly.
getting bigger and bigger each day and finally you'd start to see the branches growing out of your mouth and there was no way to stop it.
you'd just eventually suffocate and die!
that's why to this day

i never eat the pips/seeds........ just in case :s

I used to believe that if you ate poppyseed muffins, flowers would grow out of your ears. My sisters would tease me and waive muffins in front of me while I panicked and cried my eyes out. Thankfully my mom talked me out of my belief.

When I was a little girl I would accidently swallow seeds while eating fruits like tangerines.
I would get very scared because I would think the next day a tree would grow out of my mouth.....

When i was younger i was told by my mum that if you ate an orange pip you would get orange trees goin out your ears. I was a only 3 and i was really scared when i was eating an orange and...yes you've guessed it...i ate the pip. I was crying my eyes out and i ran into the bathroom and washed my ears out. Then i had my mum guive me a lecture on how it needed soil and sun and water to grow.

once, when i was about 6, i was eating an apple and accidently ate the pip. i told my friend and she said that the other day, her dad ate the apple pip, and an apple tree started growing out of his bum. i was so scared, and made sure i never ate the pip. next time i went to her house, i tried to find the tree coming out his bum, she said he had to cut it regularly.

My brother and I were convinced that if we swallowed any seeds, they would sprout inside us and grow, and we'd die a horrible death with branches poking out of our mouths,ears, belly button, and (uugh!) eyes. We still don't eat tomatoes.

when i was little, i accidently swallowed an orange seed, and i thought an orange tree would grow in my stomach. i thought i couldn't eat anything after that because the food i swallow would plant the seed down, and the drink would water the seed, making the orange tree grow.

When I was young, my mum told me that if I swallowed a seed, the plant of that seed would grow from my head...I then proceed to swallow all the seeds I could and stood infront of the mirror for hours on end waiting for a tree to grow.

When I was young my mom used to warn me never to swallow any seeds or pits of any fruit or else a tree would grow from my stomach. I vividly remember me being extra cautious not to accidently swallow any grape seeds or I would start to grow branches from my arms and forever be a tree!
