when i was about 5 or 6 my mum always told me to be very careful not to swallow any watermellon seeds because if i did a watermellon would start growing in my tummy and no body would ever be able to get it out. i believed this because my older sister told me our dad (who had a very big belly) had swallowed some seeds and he had a watermellon in his tummy... he still has a big belly maybe its still in there.

My brother was never the nicest kid in the world. It didn't help that when I was younger, I was also gullible enough to do just about anything. So, naturally, when my aunt sent one those wreaths made from dried chile peppers, my brother had to take advantage of it. He told me that the seeds tasted just like bubblegum, which I was pretty obsessed with then. So, I unwittingly ate at least a spoonful of them, not remotely tasting the bubblegum that had been promised. I was rather sick for the rest of the day. I did get back at my brother, though, as I threw up all over him.
