When i was around 5 or 6 my mom and sister told me that my mum had a special camera that was so small i would never b able to find it,and that she knew everything i ever did b/c of it. At first i didn't believe her, but then when i came home from piano lessons and she knew i had misbehaved, it freaked me out.
I used to belive that adults were never kids. I thought that they just stayed the way they were until they died. I was amazed to find out that they were kids at one time.
my brothertold me that everytime mum and dad kissed then I would have a little brother or sister. For years I used to ask my mum every morning if she had anything to tell me. I found out later he told me a lie.
I used to think that my Dad was Chinese because he had black hair and when he smiled his eyes became squinted.
Whenever I got in major trouble, my dad would always shout, of course, "You're grounded!"
I thought he made up that word, so about a year later when I heard it on TV, I thought my father must be famous, his new word was popular enough that it's now being displayed on television!
when i was little i used to call human beings human beans, and for some strange reason i thought they were evil and "baddies", and so whenever my sister told me that she was (or someone else was)a human being i used 2 break down into tears convinced that someone was gonna take her away (turns out i was the 1 who needed to be taken away :P)
I believed that grown-up men were automatically older than grown-up women (i.e., Dad was automatically older than Mom), and a taller grown-up was older than a shorter grown-up. Luckily, my Mom was shorter than, and younger than my Dad, so no cause for utter confusion. I also thought that grown-ups who played on the floor with kids (my Aunt) were younger than those who were too busy to (my Mom). In fact, my Aunt is 10 years older than my Mom.
I remember being about 5 or 6 years old when my dad told me that nighttime shadows were holes, so I had to stay out of the shadows or I would fall into the holes. Even into my teenage years, in spite of my knowledge to the contrary, I was still apprehensive about those shadows, which I guess was my dad's goal all along!!!!
Once, I told my sister that "I need help." I meant that I needed help playing the piano. She woudln't help me so I began screaming, "I need HELP!" She later came in and told me that she had called the Mental Institution because I 'Needed help,' And that they were going to come and take me away. I cried for about a half hour before I realized it wasn't true.
My sister was born when I was almost 3 years old. As we both got older, I told her that aliens had given my mother an egg to hide under her shirt and that's where my sister came from...outerspace....My sister believed that for years lol
when i was little ,my grandma used to tell me if i was bad, when i went to sleep ,she would hang me on a hook by my toes.i beleived her untill i was ten.
When I was younger my dad used to like to tell me little brain teasers. One day he asked me, "I a tree falls in the forest with no one around to hear it, does it make a sound?" But I didn't get it. I just said how would I know? I can only hear it fall if I'm there and then there IS someone there to hear it! I didn't understand why he was asking me something that there was absolutely no way I could know the answer.
I truly thought my little brother was adopted. The rest of my family had dark brown hair and glasses. My older brother and I were often refered to as twins because we were close in age and looked alike. We also had matching baby blankets and baby books. My little brother, however, came 5 years later, with bright red hair, a chubbier build, and 20/20 vision. Not to mention the fact that he didn't have a baby blanket or baby book.
It wasn't until he grew up and began resembling Dad, that I finally believed he belonged.
When I was little I believed that younger brothers and sisters came from the pet store. I would always ask my parents to go buy me one.
i used to think that if i drank milk with watermelon i would die because the mix was poisonous because my grandma told me that, so until this day i haven't mix them..
When I was little around 5 (im adopted and have know since I can remember) I was always told I could ask what ever I wanted (about my adoption or really anything),and my mom would always give me a truthful answer...So after running out of 5 year old like questions (hard for a kid to do) I just liked for my mom to tell me stories about bringing me home and what not..In one story I remember her telling me that my dad made my bottle for me while she rocked me...I was plagued and amazed that my dad could actually make a bottle...I imagined him with a big sheet of plastic somehow bending and forming it to make a bottle.I was about 10 when I realized what he was actually doing in the story...fixing my formula!I was crushed!
One day, I became very afraid that my twin sister was actually a robot, and that she was going to come steal the soul of my beloved teddy bear, Biggie. I told her that, and I would not relent. She remembers that, to this day.
I used to believe that my older sister was half-alien, half-human. She told me that, like an older sister would.
When I was young I thought that grownups spoke a different language to each other when they were alone, and possibly one learns this language in big-boy school.
For a long time, I thought my Dad was a girl who grew up to be a man. He never told me that he used to be a little girl, but he would often say things like "When I was a little girl, I always helped my mom do the dishes." He said these things so often that I believed him until I was 6.
