This is probably a case of paranoia. When I lived with my very religious aunt & uncle in Blaine, WA USA, during my senior year -I was 17- I believed that they were monitoring my drug & alcohol use (I was doing that stuff very rarely). One way was by having some sort of device built into the toilet plumbing that would take a sample of my urine and send a signal to their bedroom and tell them if I was on anything (maybe even monitor pregnancy!). ...paranoia?
Another way was by collecting hair samples from my brush and the floor, and sending it to a lab. They were pretty wealthy, so they could afford that sort of thing!! (They shoulda been more worried about their own teens.)

my friend from preschool, told me about her twin sister (they were both black) and asked me if i had a twin.. naturally, being the competitive one that i was, i said yes and told her that they had dark skin like hers and long black hair in cornrows like hers.. soon i realized, that i wasnt black.

When my dad was little he and his bro and sis would go to their grandmas house. at her house she had a dock and she told the children to never go on the dock by their selves.
one day my great grandma was cutting carrots and looked out the window that over looked the dock. their she saw all three children swinging their legs off the dock. she got so mad she ran out and started yelling at them. they started crying and wailed "but we were together!"
my great grandma as still not forgiven herself. lol

when i was a child i had a chuck e cheese toy... it had a fat stomach and really skinny arms and legs... i one day asked my grandmother, why does he look like that.. she told me because he ate rocks... well one day, years later, after i had met my mom's boyfriend (and now husband)my grandma asked what i thought of him... i told her "he looks like he eats rocks"...

My mom used to tell me she bought me from Sears because they had a good sell on the little babies and she will take me back and get a new baby if I am bad.

when i was little, i used ro thought that my mum and dad would leave me someday. eventually i got scared and started to have nightmares that my mum and dad left me for another better kid. i started to cling to them and finally i opened up to them. they promised me that they would never leave me. from then onwards, i always felt safer.

I used to believe that all the grown-ups were never little kids. Like when my mom would tell me something that happened to her as a kid I wouldn't believe her. I know all kids probably believed this but whatever.

Actually, my cousin:
I'm only 8 years younger than his mother so he calls me Aunt Stephanie. When his mother tried to explain that I was actually his cousin, he explained, very matter-of-factly, that that was just not possible, because I am old like her!

At age five I was told my mother had to go to the hospital to "lose weight". In reality, she went to the hospital, gave birth and placed the baby for adoption. I learned the truth at age twelve and finally at age forty, (a couple of years ago) was reunited with my "lost" sister.

I used to believe that, when explaining a realisation I had to my elders, by stating that "a friend said" or that "I had read somewhere"... what I was saying would be believed (and yes I was telling the truth and it was usually correct as well). See I was brought up in a family that told me I didn't know anything because I was young. Even to this day I find myself having "genious moments" of realisation and discussing them with my boyfriend, telling him that somone at work had said... Never taking credit for the things I had figured out, even when it is fact.

When I was a child I believed that my parents weren't my real parents and I was adopted. May be I thought so 'couse I didn't look like my parents or anyone in the family, and my siste was the copy of my mom-just younger. Sometimes I still think I was right.
