top belief!
My mom is a nurse, and when I was little, I used to tell her I'd put her in a nursing home when she got older, because I thought nursing homes were where nurses went.
I thought that, by age 10, you were a grown-up. I think I got this idea from babysitters who were only in their teens, but were in charge.
My dad used to tell me that when I got into my teens, I would turn into a "Gorshkin," a kind of animal that has horns. I used to picture some kind of gargoyle or puck creature.
It turns out it was his little joke, and he actually told me that in my teens, I would become a Gorshkin, which was "horny" creature.
When I was around 3 or 4, In Day Care, there was a boy who was the same as me who I had a 'crush' on. I really liked him and missed him when I stopped going to that Day Care. Then a few years later, I told my mom that I missed him and that he was probably a grown-up now

When I was little, my Dad always used to start stories with "When I was a little girl" so I always believed (I am female) that when I grew up I would become a man and my brother would become a woman.
My dad always tried to convince us that when we turned sixteen, our gender would change; ie., I would become a boy! Scary thought!
This i actually what my little brother belived. I had started school and did my homework. My brother wanted to have homework to, so he told everyone that when he became a girl he was going to do his homework.
When my son was young (about 3) he believed that people were born male and then grew up and got to be mommies. He was going to have 100 babies when he was a mommy. It made me feel really special and loved that he thought I was the pinnacle of evolution :}
My younger sister believes no one ages. You just stay the same all the time! She also thinks having a boyfriend/girlfriend is bad, and that you'll get married to them no matter your age.
When I was little I saw my nanny take out her dentures. I asked her how do you do that? And she grinned and told me, u'll be able to when u get older honey. then my twin sister came in the bathroom and looked at our nanny. Then we both started to try and take out our teeth!
When I was 10 my dad coached my girl's soccer team. One day at practice the team was slacking off so my dad said, "I'm 103 years old and I can do this drill faster than you!" One girl on the team took it to heart and went hold and told her mom that "Mr. B's 103 years old!" I guess my dad's balding gray hair was all it took to convince her! Gee, I guess that makes Dad about 121 now.
i used to think when you were 1 you were in 1st grade, 2 2nd grade etc. i also thought that when u were 1 you were 1 foot tall and so one and i wondered why i never saw any 40 foot people
I used to believe that as you grew up, you started as a girl, then became a boy, then became a girl and so on and so on. I would ask when I was going to be a boy until my mom finally put it all together.
When I was young my parents & I lived in another city than both of my grandparents.
All my grandparents lived in a retirementflat in the city of The Hague, NL. So I thought at an age of 5yrs old that every ones grandparents lived in The Hague, and that that city was especially designed for grandparents to live
I used to think that growing up happened overnight. That I would one night go to bed and wake up and grown woman. I would pray when I went to bed that the next day I could be a grown-up and start my grown-up life!
When i was 5 i believed humans carried on growing forever until we would reach the height of the ceiling until we died. (Don't ask Why, but i did). However i couldn't understand why my parents and other members of my family stopped growing but i was always convieved i would be taller than them. I'm 19 now and yes i'm taller than my parents, only by 4 ins.
When I was about 4 or 5, my cousin would make me mad, so I always said to mayself, "When I grow up, I'll be older than her, and that will show her..." And I don't know how I thought I could become older faster...
When I was about five, and didn't understand the whole how and where babies came from, I used to think as we (children) aged our parents would do the opposite and become younger. And once we reached adulthood, we would become the parents and our parents were our children. Death and giving birth did not exist in my mind.

I used to think that when you were a child that you had a "calf" muscle, and when you grew up that it became a "cow" muscle. Then you were on your way to turning into a cow.
I used to believe that little boys grew up to be girls and little girls grew up to be boys.
