I used to think that when you grow up, there'll be one day where you turn in to a kid again. I used to give my dad my own toys ("Presents") and say, "Daddy, this is for the day when you turn back in to a little boy again.
i used to think that adults did not have dreams!
When I was little I thought sometimes you grew faster than other times, and so someone who was, say, eight could one day be older than a person who was 16.
I used to think that when you get older you could go back and redo things.

My brother, when he was little, couldnt be convinced that he hadnt spent as much time on this planet as the rest of us. He was sure that since he had only been here, say 7 years, that everyone else in the family had only been here 7 years. He couldnt grasp the fact that I was 6 years older than him

When i was little my mom used to say to all her adult friends that when kids turn 14 that they should just lock them in their rooms until they're 21. (this statement was based on my sister who is 15 years older than i am) anyway when i was really little i was so scared to turn 14 because i was scared to be locked in my room until i was 21.
When i was kid i use to think that adults were born in adult form and that they were never kids.
which made me mad because i believed that i would be stuck as a kid forever and never be an adult.
but i was also confused on how adults got out of their mommys bellies.
When I much younger, I was plauged with an annoying cousin. He always got in the way, and so, as the older cousins we needed ways to "get rid of" him for awhile. I picked on him telling him that it didn't matter what he did, or what we said to him because he wasn't old enough to think yet. (My reasoning was that thinking relates to memory. Therfore, for the first several years of your life, which you can't remember, you weren't thinking yet.) Eerily, it seems that although my older cousins remember this, the annoying one doesn't--just as I predicted.
Okay, I have to admit that I really don't have any clue where this belief came from, but when I was much younger I thought that I would eventually not only grow bigger than my older sister, but that I could/would grow older than her too.
When I was 4 or 5 I used to believe that our clothes were getting smaller and not that we were getting older & bigger :-) !!
When I was about four I belived that as I grew older my parents would grow younger. I could not wait until they woudl be children and I would be the parent so that I could punish them for mistreating me. It was not mistreatment but rather punishment.
I am a girl with an older brother. when I was younger and arguing I would threaten him by saying "When I'm a boy and I'm older thatn you..."
When I was around 5 years old, my older brother would make fun of me a lot and I hated the fact that he was older then me. So I told him that in some point in my life I would be older then him and he couldn't make fun of me anymore.
I used to think that when you turned 20 you were "officially" an adult. That meant you had to graduate college, get married and have a baby all that year. I'm 21 now and extremely thankful that I was mistaken
I used to believe (and worry about it) thatI would grow up overnight, from a child to an adult, and wake up and my clothes would not fit me anymore, and I would have to go shopping naked for new clothes.
When I was a kid I used to beleive that adults don't lie.
It still surprises me to realize that adults lie so much more the kids do.
Kind of sad...
Since my grandparents were German immigrants, I used to think that everyone forgot how to speak English at some point in their lives and reverted to German.
I used to believe that I would never stop climbing trees - even when I turned into an adult.
When I was in elementary my friend used to rub in the fact that she was "smarter" than me because she was 4 months older. To which I honestly replied, yes, but she was also going to die 4 months before me! I think I thought that everyone dropped dead at age 100...
